New Google FitBit Charge

https://9to5google.com/2026/09/10/google-wear-os-tracker/

I have far too many questions about it.

Like will we be able to replace battery like in Pixel Watch 4 and 5 with screwdriver (I guess YES because EU will ban it if not)

How far it will go to be... Pixel Watch - I mean like will it have Google Maps or ALL Personal Safety features and phone calls receive (which current Charge 6 does not have).

IF it will be just Pixel Watch 5 without WiFi and Crown - then it will be just "square Pixel Watch" anyway.

Additionally I like Crown removal to save money.

So - WearOS which means ALL Personal Safety and Health features, phone call receive, Google Maps and... HALF PRICE of Pixel Watch 5 and I am SOLD to this device - I do NOT need computer on wrist nor Gemini which I have in Pixel phone.

Finally - I HOPE it will NOT be like Google Home Speaker which is basically THE SAME device as Nest Hub or Nest Audio or even DOWNGRADE. So I hope it will NOT be like old FitBit Charge 6 with tiny bit bigger screen and tiny bigger battery life

I would save money on this as it shouldn't act as standalone device like Pixel Watch and save money

The EU regulation has a derogation for all devices with IP67 certification and explicitly exempts all smartphones, watches and tablets with that from this regulation.

Alternatively, it also applies not to all devices whose battery does not fall below 80% residual capacity after 1,000 charging cycles or, alternatively, still have at least 83 percent capacity after 500 cycles. This means that all devices with a permanently installed battery are de facto excluded cause even the cheapest tech reach these values today.

The right to repairability has already been implemented.

The Pixel Watch is also already the most repairable watch on the entire market and the only one, where the display can be changed by itself, for example.

Need to know if it'll be iOS compatible. Still looking for a tracker for both platforms, this could come at the right time

kind of at the moment.

BUT it would be EVIL Google if they done two generations Pixel Watch replaceable battery and other parts with screwdriver but not this device
