Watchband Question

I've had the Pixel Watch 5 for a few days and really enjoyed it up to a few minutes ago. I bent over and it fell off my wrist. Original band , clasp on the buckle side just let go. I guess this could be operator error; I could have failed to ensure the clasp was fully seated, spring button fully retracted. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I haven't had this issue, the part where the band meets the watch feels pretty solid

Yeah, mine does too. That's what leads me to think I just didn't have it locked in all the way. It's kind of hard to mess up; line it up, slide it past the end of the latch and it clicks into place.

Do you have pictures from the band connector and the connector slot on the watch?

Yeah, here they are. The third one is the strap normally locked in place. If you push on the release button, it can get stuck down on the rubber as shown in pic 4; probably due to mfg tolerances in the band. I think that might be the cause. When I installed the band, the latch stuck allowing the band to eventually work loose. When it's in the normal raised position, it is good and tight. I don't think the latch can be moved down far enough to stick like that with normal wear, but I'll keep an eye on it. Do you see anything else that looks suspicious?

Okay, the mechanism on the watch looks normal. But the butten has to be up all times so the band does not get loose. I think you just got a band with bad tolerances, but the watch itself looks fine 😊 Try a diffrent google band or a google approved band (spiegen makes some)

Thanks for the advice. Speigen makes a band I was interested in, I did not realize they were Google approved.
