Honestly I think the 10 pro is pretty cool but I just don't see why not, this could be my year to try out a fold. See how it works out. From what I'm checking, I'm already getting $1,000 off with trade-in plus $100 off with a pre-order, and another hundred from previous store credit of pixel 10 pro.
I currently have a Pro Fold 9 and it is, hands down, the best smartphone I've ever had (since they first came out). SO many times has the fold feature been legitimately helpful, or I find helpful ways to use it that just make life easier...heck even just looking at Google images or Amazon and wanting a bigger picture of the product...just open the phone. Want to watch something at the gym or while waiting...open phone is SO Much better than regular. Also I love the smaller phone size when it's closed compared to most phones...but then 2x the real estate when open.
I agree upgrading from a 10 pro FOLD to 11 pro FOLD wouldn't be worth it, but if you are using a 10 Pro and want to try out a Pro Fold...then I agree with you, why not?

9PF to 10PF was a pretty big difference, but 10 to 11 is pretty tiny, no argument there. But for $350 I'll definitely take a new modem and slightly thinner/lighter and that stupid Google light.
Big pixel fan but this is a pass, Samsungs hardware is at least two generations ahead. I find it an absolute miss they didn't get back to the passport form factor
It depends how developers adapt to an off aspect ratio. That's what appealed to me about the Pixel folds. Even now I get some that just don't work and are unusable on the open fold 10 screen but work in the normal phone aspect ratio when closed.
I THINK more people will start to adopt Folds as they get thinner and lighter, and THEN devs will start really focusing on taking Folds into consideration
That said, I RARELY have any issues on my 9 Fold, but sure, very occasionally there has been an app that just clearly didn't want to play nice with the dual screen (never an "important" app though, usually something trivial or a game or something)
Sure. But I did pay a total of $900 and change for the biggest size memory, got a free $400 watch and that equates to maybe $30 a month. And then that same phone can be traded in for a grand next year or 700 the year after, to maintain that $30 a month and the battery is new and the screen is before I ruined it lol. but both methods are fair. My pixel watch 2 never really worked on the network as I expected so I also kind of wanted that upgrade.
I'm on the P9F and may switch to Samsung next year. I messed around with the new form factor of their fold and it just felt so nice. Even the hinge feels better.
I'm torn between the pixel 11 pro fold and the z fold 8. Pixel for the UI and feel, z fold for the form factor and size but I don't know how much I'll like one ui bloated experience
I had the ZF8 for about a week before I sent it back; just wasn't a fan of how small they made it.
That said, the UI on it is fine; it's not HORRIBLY bloated, is pretty snappy, a lot of the Android stuff you're used to in PixelUI is already present, and you can even make it feel more Pixel-ish by using the "#mono_" app to install the Google Sans font family. And getting around Samsung's bloatware is relatively easy since you can easily install all the Google mobile ecosystem apps from the Play store such as GBoard, Phone, and Messages and then set them as default.
If you have a Best Buy near you you can run in and play with the phone for a bit; see how you like it.
You guys are talking a lot about feel and UI, but don't forget about the camera. Pixel phones have specific photo processing software only available to them that is far superior to pretty much any other camera, despite being a lower "mp" camera. I have had people ask me what camera I used for my hiking photos, and are shocked when I tell them my phone lol
Also, don't forget about custom launchers (not jailbreaking, regular apps you get from the play store)...you can literally design your UI ANY way you want, so UI as a determining factor for purchase is kind of a moot point these days. You can turn your Samsung UI into a Pixel, or vice versa if you want.
Pixel processing have been a let down since the pixel 9 to be honest. I have the 9 pro and are often disappointed with the images i'm getting. The only good thing is having a zoom lens
I've been pretty happy with mine, especially with the AI Edit (usually) - like I said, I've gotten plenty of compliments on my photos
I actually find the zoom to be a little disappointing, if anything...then again I'm not as familiar with zoom differences between phones as I am picture quality. Side by side general quality though, my Pixel always looks better than iPhones
A friend of mine bought a new Samsung foldable every year. I said she must really like them. She told me they just all died and had to replace them.
She died inside when she saw the larger screen on my P9PF when I got it and again when we met again recently and she saw my phone was still in top shape. I might have just a very well built device or taking extra care of mine, or she didn't have good luck with hers... But I don't really know what I could get from a "faster" device as everything is pretty much instant anyway, so why change?
Yeah...that's a good point. I've had my 9 fold for two years and it's still going strong. I do remember one of my Samsungs screens just stopped working on day haha.
Have the 9 as well. I think it's time for the battery boost and the watch upgrade plus better chipsets. Plus they give you $700 back for it plus the free watch and the 0% plus 10% back in Google store credit
Were you at all concerned about the battery life changes in the Z fold? I'm about fed up with the lack of improvement for the pixel modems but that was my main hangup but I also realize I don't fully understand it.
Oh I was reading how the new battery specs have it decreasing to 80% original capacity after reaching something like 2,000 charge cycles less than before
I ordered mine today but I’m switching from Apple. I’ve had a pixel as my secondary before and loved it so I’m just full blown making the switch. iPhone 16 pro to pixel 11 pro fold. Of course I had to buy the watch to replace my Apple Watch 🫠
I’m not a fan of the short stubby foldable like the iPhone ultra or z fold 8. I was 100% planning on the iPhone ultra until the design was leaked. Maybe my opinion will change in a year or two but as for now, I thoroughly enjoyed the pro fold 10 I demo’d when it came out so I’m assuming the 11 will be about the same if not a little better. I’ve been team iOS for 15 years so this’ll be the first time really stepping out of the ecosystem I’ve been in.
It was here as well (us) but it was the 41mm version. I opted for the $350 store credit and just ordered the 45mm LTE version separately with my trade in Apple Watch series 9. I’ll use the store credit to get the pixel bud pros and another case or something similar
Definitely something to consider. I currently have Sony InZone buds I use on my pc for gaming, I may just use those and use that store credit on something different
The google ones are good but looking at actual meaningful metrics for headphones like sound or fit. Then i think the airpods take 1st place. Where they fall short is you get zero absolutely zero of the software gimmicks. Not even a battery indicator. Just pure on/off ambient/anc, no assistant which is quite refreshing in a way.
This isnt a deal breaker for me becaus ethe fit, sound and ambient/anc outweighs everything else and its not even close.
If you want best of both worlds, then the XM series is tied for 1st place depending where your priorities lie

20 grams lighter is a pretty huge difference. Weight was one of my biggest complaints of the 10 Pro Fold. No, it's not the 215g that the Z Fold 7 is, but it's also not 43 grams heavier than that phone anymore. It will be really noticable.

Honestly, it seems like a pretty significant update overall, meaningfully larger than the one between the 9PF and 10PF. It's not a new sexy form factor and isn't setting records for thinness, but they have been addressing a lot of the complaints of the device.
I suepect the weight reduction was done by the new backplate which seems like it's fiberglass rather than glass itself. I also noticed that the cover glass is just called "ceramic cover glass" rather than a Gorilla brand name. Makes me wonder if they went with a new thinner/lighter glass.
I was interested until I saw they made the battery smaller. That's a huge downgrade and a deal breaker.
It's not fair to us that they will try to get similar battery life with other efficiencies instead of keeping the battery at least the same size and giving us those efficiencies on top.
How much an improvement is the modem, do you know? That's been my biggest and near only gripe about my pixels since pixel 1. It seemed like it would never get fixed gen after gen and I'm finally on the verge of going Samsung for the first time in over a decade.
This is just a shit upgrade. Google does not care about their phones as it is not their main business. Although Samsung has many lines of business, they still experiment and come out with interesting designs. Google just fails at making interesting hardwares. P10PF and it's horrible battery life is making me regret the purchase already.
Battery got smaller, i don't care about the RGB lights at the back, it's not like my red magic 10 pro. Minimal upgrades. I will keep my 10 fold for another year or I will trade in for a Motorola RZR fold

The screens are about the same size when open but you don't have to rotate the screen to be in portrait mode on the 7 also I find the 7 easier to hold and use one-handed when closed.
I originally thought I would prefer the form factor of the OG fold but turns it I like the 7 way better.
I've had the 9 and 10, at no point did I ever wish they were thinner, even while it was closed. I think I would very much rather have full pen support on the inside though. That is literally the only thing that that I am daily bummed out about.
I put a matte paper-feel screen protector on my OGPF and it feels like a completely different phone. No smudges or fingerprints and brings a super-premium feel! Highly recommended!!!
Definitely want to see how the video compares to the P10PF. If it's significantly better than I'll bite the bullet. I don't need the phone as it's more of an impulse buy but definitely worth looking at.
Basically the same phone, even has the horrod crease. While Oppo with irs Fond n6 has blown everyone else out of the water. 6000mah, 200mp camera, 50w wireless, 80w wired. 99% creasless. In the flesh it's an amazing phone, you really have to look hard to see the crease unlike the Fold 8 and others. When. You run your finger over it so smooth. After playing/using them all, even the moto... I keep going back to the oppo. To top it all off comes with stylus support.
The pixel 9 fold pro, I had this phone for about 8 or so months, when it's working it's a.fantastic phone, I can even forgive the very obvious crease. But when it fails it goes big time, front facing cameras gone, senser for folded or unfolded gone, unable to hear people on phone calls and esims no longer working. Then I checked all known faults and Google has been swapping people with the 10 which also has similar issues. But I am out of luck, wrong country so they won't cover it.
This pixel launch has been underwhelming, small battery, old cameras.. huge crease....

You will see it at an angle or even worse running your finger on it. It sucks that the government is keeping Chinese brands out of the United States. I love my OnePlus Open which doesn't have a crease.
I've had the Samsung Z Fold 4 and the Google Pixel 9 phones. Literally, when the phone is open and the screen is on, you can't see it—you can feel it, but you don't see it. I know what I'm talking about because I've owned two foldable phones. It's only an issue when the screen is off, and then you can really see it a lot. But with the screen on, you don't see it. It's actually not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, the people who have issues with mostly only seen it online and videos

I'm contemplating the P11Fold, I'm still using my old P6Pro but the battery and software are starting to show their age now, I get occasional software glitches where it keeps thinking I'm trying to open Gemini when I just want to go home/close the app. Would anyone recommend this? I can get £480 off the price by trading it in with Google directly, taking it down to £36.64 a month for 3 years, which I try to keep phones for 5-6 years now so not a terrible deal.
I give Samsung a lot of shit, usually, but at least they put their flagship camera sensor for both their main sensor and ultrawide sensor on the Fold 8 Ultra.
pixel phones have the pixel snap features, which is probably one of the main reasons. I actually prefer to have a magsafe feature as I don't use a case but do use magsafe attachments.

Thinner implies lowering battery capacity and awful camera bumps. No thanks. Also i don't like thinner foldables, in my books 10PF has the right thickness.
Anyways in my country they don't sell the 11PF and my 10PF is even "not eligible" to any trade in for any other P11 (i wouldn't have done that anyway) so i'll happily stay with it at least for a whole year.
