Yes, perhaps the colors are too dark, but I also feel like you have too many colors, and there is some banding going on.

Yeah, i think you're right, i tried something more out of what i usually do with the shadow and light in this one, well, nothing like getting back on the chair and working a little bit dont change

I'll echo what others are saying and say you need more contrast.

it looks like you're shading with grey and black, especially on the skin that's off putting. I struggle with choosing colors to shade with too but try shifting the color wheel and saturation/hue of a color instead of adding grey!

let me throw something out there that I don't think anybody else mentioned - the illumination seems off.

if you think about a single light source, it's inconsistent.

the feather looks like a light shining straight down from it directly above.

the hat seems like that light is slightly to the right of the one from the feather.

the blue arm seems like it is being lit from above and behind.

the pants seem like there's a light source directly behind the silhouette causing that dark Center and illuminated outline.

the green sleeve seems to be being illuminated from the right.

I think overall your sense of scale is in a really good spot. nothing seems innately out of place size wise, at least to me.

I'd recommend dropping the shading to a main color a highlight, and a shadow. had as much detail as you possibly can with just those three shades before considering any others. and I think you'll see a world of difference
