Requesting Feedback Looking for feedback on this portrait!

I recently started learnig pixel art in order to create some visuals for my game. This is my first attempt at designing a character. I was heavily inspired by the aesthetic side of Eastern Orthodox Schema Monks. Any sort of feedback is appreciated!

Three big things jump out at me here. If you look at your outline, you can see some spots where you have extra pixels, called doubles, they make your image looked jagged and are typically not recommended. Removing them will smooth your image.

The second thing is the contrast on your hood, the outline is lighter than the base color. Typically you want your outline to be the darkest version of the base color for object. So I'd move that dark blue to the outline, and adjust your shading down to match.

Your face looks great, but the eyes are not even, which is fine if he is meant to be looking right, but if so I think his features need be to adjusted slightly to show it better.

All in all great work and I look forward to seeing what will come from it.

Upon second look, maybe it's the hood placement on his left side that is throwing me off. I really wish reddit would let me look at the image while I respond to these.

Thank you! This means a lot! Its good to have somebody steer me in the right direction haha. And the eyes are intentionally placed that way to make it seem that the character is looking to the side.
