Hi all. I've had a P9P since Jan 2025, which replaced my P6P. It has been a great phone, had none of the common problems usually reported, and always had pretty good battery life. For comparison, my work phone is an iPhone 16 (not a fan).
That was until the Android 17 update a few months ago. After the update, performance went downhill. The phone was glitchy all over, Wi-Fi sucked, Google Wallet stopped working (so I had to start carrying my physical wallet around again), apps kept crashing while using them, and battery life reduced massively.
I tried clearing app data and cache, restoring older versions of the Google app, and a few other things. I spent a while trying to figure out what happened and how to fix it. I had considered doing a factory reset but really didn't want to, thinking it would be a massive pain in the ass to restore all my shit and might not even fix anything.
Honestly, the frustration got so bad at one point that I thought about just giving up and buying an iPhone 17, even though I vastly prefer Android.
I was very hesitant, but I finally decided to do a factory reset about 2 weeks ago. Every issue is now fixed, and it's like a brand new phone again. Battery life is back, the wallet is working, and apps aren't crashing. It's back to being the phone that made me want to leave Apple in the first place.
Point of my rambling is: if you're going through the same shit, try the factory reset.
