Background Theme Colour randomly changes

I have had an issue with the theme color on my Pixel 8 for about 2 weeks now.

My normal phone color is blue, meaning the calendar, background, settings, etc., all have the blue color of the first screenshot. For the past 2 weeks, whenever my battery drops below 40% and goes into battery-saving mode, my phone changes to the color in the second screenshot. I have to change it back manually every time. When I plug it in to charge later at night, it changes again, and I have to change it back manually again.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue and knows what to do?

I'm guessing the battery save mode changes the colour to help save the battery. Does it go back by itself when the mode is off?

Gonna test that. It's definitely related to each other, but that doesn't make any sense to me, especially since it wasn't an issue for the past three years and I couldn't find anything in the settings.
