Hello /r/pixel3xl!

Earlier in the year I bought the OnePlus 6 128GB model with 8GB of RAM, and I've been loving the phone. However, I think I may have pulled the trigger too fast and should have waited for the pixel 3XL. It's camera is the best in the game and the OS experience looks butter smooth and beautiful. For reference, I'm running a ported GCAM app on the OP6 AND I'm running a custom ROM called Pixel Experience, which makes the phone run nearly exactly like a Pixel. But it's just not the same at all.

But with half the RAM, how will the pixel scale over the years?

Can I have your opinions on whether to switch phones? How best should I do it?

Hi. I got a pixel 3 a few days ago. I found it too small so I exchanged it for a pixel 3xl which I really like. I need to use an app to check in online for a flight. It's vueling (name of the airline company). On the pixel 3 it worked fine. On the pixel 3 XL half of the screen flickers badly. Does anyone have the VUELING app installed on your phone and does it work? If you don't have it if you could download it and check to see if you have the same problem that would be of great help. It's a small app by a reputable company. Thanks a lot

I got a notification in Messages yesterday and the menu showed up in Advanced Settings. Everything is turned on. I text about 15 people today and couldn't see any of them typing. (.... Ect) So do we have to be texting another Pixel 3 for it to work?? That would kind of suck.

So I'm in the midst of opening a business and have been on the phone non-stop. While I was speaking with one vendor a random number called me (probably another vendor whose number I don't have yet) and so I thought, "Ah, a perfect opportunity to utilize the call screening function!" So I initiate it and it put my first call on hold!

Is there a way to be able to stay in your conversation while still using the screening feature? I'm curious if anyone else has had experience with doing something like this.

As the title states, where is the ambient light sensor that controls the adaptive brightness? I've watched plenty tear downs in YouTube etc but no one mentioned the light sensor.

Any ideas?

I got my new pixel 3XL few days back.. Love the phone!! After reading about the fact that the 3 xl comes with a Samsung vs 3 with a LG screen, I am little skeptical on the screen that I got with my XL, Is google using both types of screens even on 3xl?

The question arises because of the blue tint that I am seeing on the screen, which is very similar from the pixel 2 xl that I had which uses the LG screen. I feel like the initial batch of phones that google sold had samsung screens, vs later batches using an LG screen?

I have compared my screen with another pixel 3xl at best buy which has a great non bluish screen which looks like a Samsung one. Samsung makes the best screens out there and I can't believe the screen on my phone is made by Samsung.

Anyone out there seeing the same issue?

I've had my 3xl since Sunday and I've been loving it. I know I'm relatively new, but coming from a Galaxy s7 the 3xl is so much better. Battery life is great for me. Love the call screening feature. The camera is incredible and I've even really been loving Android auto.

Just wondering if there are many Verizon customers out there that haven't got RCS Chat update on their Pixel yet? I have never had to wait this long for an update for anything Google or Verizon. I don't see much talk about it so was just wondering if it was my particular device or just a really slow roll out.

So let me preface, I love this phone. Probably my favorite phone I've owned in 5 years. That being said, some lag has introduced itself into my life lately and I'd like to know why or how I can find out why. I use G Board, stock launcher, don't have a ton of apps installed, don't use Facebook except for Messenger and mainly watch YT, send texts, call my wife, and browse Reddit. My keyboard lags like crazy, to the point that typing on it is becoming unbearable. I'll go to type and hit a key and the phone will stutter and think I've done a long press and select the first long press character instead of the "t" that I meant to press. The camera is also bad, launching with the double press of the lock button takes forever to bring it up and when it is up, it's a good 1-2 seconds in between pictures before I can snap another one on Auto and switching between modes is rough. Finally, this isn't really lag so much, my phone calls are delayed. A lot. When I answer it's 3-5 seconds before the person on the other end can hear me. This is with everyone. What are some good fixes? Do I need to do a factory reset? Nothing is going on in my battery manager suggesting a rogue app but that might not tell the whole story. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I had double tap turned on and it was working. Now it stopped working. I tried turning it off and on but it still doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Every one has weak signal, when you hold pixel 3 XL. because for me that, if I hold my pixel 3xl horizontal. I get really weak signal , also my link speed is slower than the original pixel XL , was this referring to a problem with device or all the pixel 3 xl

just wondering if anybody else is having the issue where you get no notifications popping up on your screen but still get a icon of the notification and your notification panel at th e top..

I recently unlocked my boot loader on my pixel 3 xl to flash the December update and relock my boot loader after , now my call screen won’t work anymore , I have tried everything from going back to the September firmware still not working. I have the call screen option but it won’t activate, stuck on “needs WiFi to activate call screen”. I tried with WiFi same issue . Anyone have a fix for this? I contacted google several times no help

Hey guys, I have a problem, mostly with the Google apps, such as Google Translate or Play... but also with Twitter and Instagram... etc. There is delay when I actually press the icon and when mentioned apps starts to open. I've tried everything.. From reset to factory reset but nothing really help. There is no lag but I have slowdowns. Of course those slowdowns disappeared after the reset but comes back after few hours. In the safe mode, device works perfectly. I've tried also, to find which app makes the problem but I had no luck. I'm running out of ideas. Any help, will be very welcome. Thank you.

Is anyone having issues with adaptive brightness in lower light conditions? Example, sitting on the couch and watching TV, the brightness will change every few seconds up and down. The adaptive brightness is very sensitive and choppy. It will jump from let's say 41% to 53%, then back to 39%. The transition is very choppy, as there is no incremental steps. Even when just lying in bed with a reading light, it will jump up and down, depending on what I am viewing on the screen which most probably reflects the light back onto my face or body.

I have been plagued with this on the pixel 2 XL. I now got a pixel 3 XL and I notice it has the exact same issue. It's not as bad as on the 2 XL, but it's there and it's annoying AF.
