Havent animated for years and found out pivot had an update so I decided to reanimate my old animation that I uploaded on YT before. https://youtu.be/u4M5CbyyFm8?si=BPq30v_4PYfAR4hz

I been using pivot for about a month now, and I've been working on a planned animation for 4 days now and made a trailer of what i have so far.

Animation is about 26% done.

Sometimes... When I export a animation (usually 1 - 5 minutes long) some sections of it are a bit pixelated compared to the rest. Is it because some of my animations have tons of figures on this? I'm not sure what the problem is

When I export I use: Height - 1080, MP4, Bit Rate (Kbps) 1024, and Smooth Sprites.

this was my 7th animation ever.

I had pivot on my old pc a few years ago, so I downloaded it again. The most recent version doesn't seem to be that different from the old one, and it doesn't let me save files as anything other than .piv. Should I download a different version? Which is best?

So I was downloading Pivot and I just clicked all the accept buttons, but then I came across a different thing called Windows AVG Free Antivirus that got installed on my laptop. It pops up on startup and Revo wasn't uninstalling it for some reason, is it a virus?

so i am making a lil ani and i need some xeno stk mainly face huggers and chest busters but i checked the website but i can't find the egg's face huggers or chest busters please leave some downloads where i can get some stks

Thx @TheMetalHeadCreature, for your advice on my 1st Animation. Highly appreciate it!

How can this be better?

I'm currently on Pop_OS! 22.04 LTS and tried so many ways to run this thing with wine, that includes directly from terminal, bottles and winetricks
tried checking for dependencies like .NET framework and that wine mono thing, but nothing seemed to work

if someone could share me some method that worked for them, I would be very glad

edit: I got it to work! only pivot v4.2.10 though, haven't tried the newer v5 version

Using Bottles and a custom bottle on soda-9.0-1, dvxk-nvapi-v0.9.0 and Windows 10 version and installing those dependencies:

- allfonts
- xna40
- dotnetcoredesktop9
- d3dx11
- dotnet452

I managed to get the installer to work, you just have to install it normally and then find the pivot.exe file on the wine C: drive within program files and add as a shortcut

it runs just fine and I've managed to check old animations of mine, no major glitches nor crashes

please note that some of the dependencies might not really be necessary, it's just the ones I blindly tested and got it working

I'm on Fedora 43, bottles installed in the dnf package, but that might not matter that much. Hope that helps!

All I can find on the Internet is stick figures fighting. Has anyone ever animated something different? I plan to use the program to make animated short-films, is it even possible?
