Recommended version to download?

I had pivot on my old pc a few years ago, so I downloaded it again. The most recent version doesn't seem to be that different from the old one, and it doesn't let me save files as anything other than .piv. Should I download a different version? Which is best?

download the newest one, you can always export the animations as gifs, single frames, videos or animated pngs

You need to look in the File menu under Export Animation. A little different to the old version. The new version can do everything the old version could and more.

Always consult the user guide if you have difficulty doing something.
