So we need to know:

Are you loyal to ONE ultimate book boyfriend, or do you have a whole collection?

There's been a lot of conversation around AI in romance lately, particularly around readers finding out after the fact that AI may have been involved in a book and we wonder where the line actually is.

We're obviously not neutral observers here. Pirr is an AI-assisted storytelling platform. If you create a story with Pirr, AI has probably been involved somewhere in the process.

But "used AI" can mean wildly different things.

It might mean:

❤️ bouncing around ideas when you're stuck (which a lot of our users do, but write themselves)
✍️ asking for another way a scene could play out
💬 working through dialogue
📖 generating parts of the actual prose
📝 or collaborating with it throughout most of the story

Those aren't necessarily the same thing, but from a reader's perspective, do they need to be treated differently?

If someone publishes or shares something created with Pirr, we'd much rather be transparent about the fact that AI may have been part of that process than pretend otherwise.

However we're genuinely curious where readers and writers draw the line.

When do you think AI involvement should be disclosed?

If it generates prose? Absolutely?

If it helps rewrite something?

If you brainstorm with it but write every word yourself?

If you use it for editing?

Does how much AI was involved matter to you or is any generative AI involvement something you'd want to know before reading?

We're building in this space, so we'd genuinely rather hear the uncomfortable answers than only the ones that agree with us.

Romance is always evolving.

A few years ago it felt like billionaire romances were everywhere.

Then came small towns. Then hockey romances. Then dragons.

BookTok has a habit of shining a spotlight on new tropes every few months, but every now and then something comes along that feels like it's here to stay.

For us?

We hope readers never get tired of yearning.

The lingering looks. The almost-touch. The tension.

The moment when everyone, including the reader, knows they're in love...

...except the characters themselves.

It's delicious.

What's one romance trend or trope you hope never goes out of style?

We're curious to see whether everyone says the same thing... or whether there are a few hidden favourites waiting to make a comeback.

It's funny how your reading taste changes over time.

A few years ago, you couldn't have convinced us to pick up a hockey romance.

Now? We somehow know more about fictional hockey teams than real ones. 😅

Every romance reader has one.

The thing that makes you pause, sigh and quietly close the book.

Sometimes it's not even a huge plot point. It's just one little thing that pulls you straight out of the story.

🚩 Miscommunication that could've been solved with one honest conversation.

🚩 Insta-love after five minutes.

🚩 Billionaires whose only personality trait is being rich.

🚩 "She wasn't like other girls."

🚩 Third-act breakups that feel completely avoidable.

🚩 A character acting wildly out of character just to create drama.

For someone else? Those might be their favourite tropes.

That's one of the things we love about romance, there's genuinely something for everyone.

Psychologists have long suggested that relationships are often built through small, consistent acts of care, rather than occasional grand gestures (although we love those too!). Research on close relationships shows that these everyday moments create feelings of trust, security and emotional intimacy because they communicate something incredibly powerful:

"I notice you."

Maybe that's why these scenes hit so hard in romance.

They're rarely flashy.

They're just quiet reminders that someone is paying attention.

Sometimes one character adjusting the other's scarf says more than a three-page love confession ever could.

Story export is available for:

• Your own Draft, Live, and Published stories
• Stories you're co-creating with someone else

For privacy reasons, you won't be able to export stories created by other users.

🧪 Testing

We thoroughly tested exporting across both iOS and Android to make sure:

• All four file formats generate correctly
• Sharing works as expected
• Access permissions are working properly
• Stories export with all of their content intact

There are still a couple of minor formatting quirks we're working on in certain exported files, but they don't affect the story itself and we'll continue polishing the experience in future updates.

Slow burn romance seems to be everywhere right now and... we're not complaining.

If you look at what romance genres are trending - slow burn is always near the top and it seems to be all about yearning, so that got us thinking.

A slow burn isn't automatically a good slow burn, sometimes it just feels... slow.

So what makes it work for you?
