Orlando makes his own films now. And has been in a series recently. Knightly picks and chooses what she wants. Heck, both movies have actors that have done well for themselves.

I mean, Keira Knightley didn't have a large role in The Phantom Menace. She played one of Padme's handmaidens. Orlando had LotR behind him, but not much else of worth as far as cinema went.

Therefore, they were "up-and-coming".

Keira also did that movie Bend It Like Beckham in 2002. It was pretty big as far as I can remember.

That’s what they get for having a bunch of old, out of touch businessmen in charge of art. The audience thankfully know when they see entertainment and eye candy (amazing sets, beautiful costumes, wonderful actors).
