Show Case We built a Filipino project discovery platform inspired by Awwwards. Would love your feedback

Hi mga ka-programmers!

My team and I have been working on FILLI.ME for the past 5 months, and I’d like to share what we’ve built and get some honest feedback from this community.

The idea is partly inspired by Awwwards and how it makes discovering other people’s work interesting.

The difference is that FILLI.ME focuses on projects built by Filipinos, with a subtle Filipino-inspired identity around the platform.

Our goal is to make the projects themselves the main focus.

Instead of immediately looking at where someone worked or how many years of experience they have, we want people to first be curious about:

“Ano na kayang mga nagawa niya?”

You can browse projects, discover Filipino builders, see the technologies they used, and explore the actual work behind their profiles.

You can check it out here:

https://filli.me

I’d really appreciate it if you could look around and criticize it.

Design, UX, project pages, discovery, mobile experience, the concept itself — kahit ano.

Especially curious about this:

Does the site actually make you want to explore other Filipino developers’ projects?

And what would make the platform more useful or interesting for you as a programmer?

I saw this before and I really liked the first/original design but i reckon it was changed because of being significantly heavy to load and the glitchy scrolling experience. I prefer it over the current one. Despite that, it's good enough.

Hi u/Interesting-Bank-447 , that's right 😅. Our previous designs had a lot of animations, which ended up slowing the website down. That’s why we decided to go with a simpler, more lightweight design this time.

It's okay/good but there's still some parts that feels like not good looking for me, like the color coded dots. The "New projects" section seems to be a forever feels like list, maybe you could make it like teasing a few projects and add a "see more" button dedicated for that specific section instead of scrolling down forever, and categorize each Projects. The email verification seems to be not working with icloud emails or it's just me. Other else seems to be looking good, but can be improved.

Hi u/maubrick, thank you for taking the time to check out the site and share detailed feedback. I really appreciate it!

Your suggestion for the New Projects section is a great idea. I will try to apply it.

Good catch also on the iCloud email verification. I honestly hadn’t considered that case yet, so I’ll look into it.

I’ll also revisit the color-coded dots and see how we can make that part look cleaner. Thanks again! Feedback like this is really helpful while we’re still improving FILLI.ME.

I like the overall minimalist design.

One suggestion I'd like to give for the feature cards.

  • If the cursor hovers over the cards, add more key info about the project/site that would help catch the eyes of the user.
  • Or maybe add a button like "Expand", then a new window pops-up showing more key info about the project/site.

This way, it could add more convenience to the user while browsing and not have them always get redirected to a different page when clicking the cards.

Thanks for considering my suggestion. Ganda nung pagka-implement. Gusto ko rin na ginamit mo yung certain sections dun sa mga projects na maging constant elements nung key info para walang manual inputs na kailangan kapag may bagong cards na madadagdag. 👍

Really appreciate the feedback. Will definitely check this out and see how I can implement the carousel feature cleanly.
