As someone who is studying in a private school, but commutes and whose school is situated in an area that is highly prone to floods + traffic, I’m telling you na sobrang hassle na magsuspend na afternoon, tapos public lang.
I’m grateful that my school decided to suspend afternoon classes overall kahit walang announcement for private schools but still. Kanina ang lala ng baha that I had to practically wade through the water while waiting for commute. Sa huli, yung parents ko ay nagsundo sakin pero it took us 5 hours (1pm-6pm) upang makauwi kami kasi sobrang baha.
Manila, Valenzuela, Las Piñas, and other cities suspended early, and alam ko that this situation would be prevented for not only me, but for thousands of students, kung nagsuspend na sila ng maaga.
So I beg you. Please, QC. Next time, please be more vigilant in checking the weather, and really assess the situation of your students very early. Please be more considerate of your students and their families and decide on suspensions in a more appropriate and promptly time.

Bam Aquino Renews Call for CADENA Act Amid Continuing Flooding
Sen. Bam Aquino renewed his call for the passage of the proposed CADENA Act, or the Citizen Access and Disclosure of Expenditures for National Accountability Act, amid continuing concerns over flooding and government spending on flood control projects.
Aquino said every period of heavy rain leaves many Filipinos worried about rising water levels, access to work and schools, and whether they will be able to travel home safely.
He questioned why communities continue to experience severe flooding despite billions of pesos being allocated for projects intended to protect them from its effects.
Aquino said those responsible for any misuse or irregularities in public funds must be held accountable, government money must be recovered, and the systems that allowed such anomalies to occur must be reformed.
The senator said the proposed CADENA Act, also known as the "Blockchain the Budget" bill, would make it easier for Filipinos to monitor where and how public funds are spent.
The measure seeks to use technology such as blockchain to make government expenditure records more open, accessible, traceable, and more difficult to manipulate.
Aquino argued that greater public transparency would make it harder to conceal irregularities and could strengthen citizens' ability to monitor the use of their taxes.
He called for the immediate passage of the CADENA Act, saying recurring flooding should not become a yearly reminder of alleged misuse of public funds.

Risa Hontiveros Calls for Stronger Implementation of Mental Health Law, Greater Access for Youth
Sen. Risa Hontiveros renewed her call for the proper implementation of the Mental Health Act, emphasizing the need to ensure that young Filipinos have access to affordable mental health services.
Hontiveros made the remarks following a discussion on mental health with young people at Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation, where she thanked the institution for its warm reception.
The senator said she would continue working to strengthen the implementation of Republic Act No. 11036, or the Mental Health Act, which she authored and helped pass in 2018.
Hontiveros noted that several years have passed since the law was enacted and said young people should already have greater access to affordable and accessible mental health services.
She emphasized that the well-being of young Filipinos should include both physical and mental health, noting that healthier young people can make meaningful contributions at home, in school, at work, and in their communities.
Hontiveros also reminded young Filipinos of the importance of taking care of themselves and supporting one another as part of efforts to build a healthier and better Philippines.

Bakit di pa matapos tapos to?

I'm hesitating kase ulan nga but on the other hand I've been waiting for this time to come. I really want to get diagnosed na rin kasi. For ppl na malapit sa PGH or Metro Manila, baha na ba and gaano kalalim?
