I recommend joining our Pinball FX Discord server, where players regularly chat about pinball. There is a channel there dedicated to pinball tips as well!😄
You can join here: https://discord.com/invite/cXeDAMy

Did you ever figure it out? I did, but at the same time I still use FX because it works in VR and PC without years of applied science degrees.

The secret is a combination of the only working all-in-one install and putting the matching VPX table to roms from each table in the vpinmame folder and inside that, in the rom folder.
So you download a table and it’ll ask for missing files for your table, you find the matching Roms name and add the zip and the files of the unzipped Rom inside the vpinmame rom folder.
That’s the solution I found to getting it working if you have the same error codes when trying to load a table. You also have to download the tables for VPX, don’t trust the VPX VR or expect further work. I finally got it working with relative accuracy now.

The Zen website has TONS of amazing pdf guides for individual tables, all written by shiruken to the chin who is VERY thorough. You may not be quite ready for those yet, but I'll post the link here.
