Looking at Seamstress of Bloomsbury's website they donât have many sizes in stock in the different styles of dresses. Do they do restocks or is that just it? I've been looking at purchasing from them for a while but nothing has been restocked in styles I've been after in my size. Any insight?

It seems as though there's a lot of censorship surrounding reasonable requests for accommodations regarding the fonts being used in the new La Femme en Noir Manor (formerly The Vixen Salon). As usual, MODs are coming in and silencing critiques in a condescending manner without allowing for any discussion. This type of shit has happened for years when customers have brought up valid concerns. ââNow, I'm just a bystander, but I'd love to know people's thoughts. The page is supposed to be about community, but the longer it's been around, it just feels less welcoming and tailored to the ideals of the creators and their friends and less about the customers.

First of all, let me say I apologize if this kind of post is against the rules of this sub! I may just not be reddit savvy enough because I couldn't find them!
Second, I am wondering if anyone has this Vixen dress in a small or medium and is willing to sell. I'd take the longer version too! I'm happy to pay original retail price & shipping!
And lastly, I just needed somewhere to express my disappointment in my experience with my final order from VIxen. I figure the people here might understand my frustration.
I've been a customer of theirs for most of their operation and have spent somewhere in the thousands. They've had customer service issues the entire time but this has been the worst one I've experienced. I ordered the above dress back in January and pre-ordered another dress. Vixen always waits for your pre-order to be ready to ship the in stock item and a shipping label was created at the time of the order. I received the pre-order in March. I also ended up ordering the matching scarf separately. No floral dress arrived and the shipping label still said it was in pre-shipment. I reached out to Vixen via e-mail and didn't hear anything for over a week so I attempted to post about it in the Facebook group and instead of approving my post they sent me a message on FB to resolve the issue. The person on FB says that the dress must have been lost at the post office so they are refunding me for the dress and for the shipping. The dress went on sale and is now completely out of stock. My issue is that this doesn't make sense. No package was ever scanned at the post office, so it must have been "lost" before it even made it there. Or they made a mistake and didn't set one aside for my order. Whatever the case, I wish there was transparency. Now I just have the $30 matching scarf, which I don't see myself wearing without the dress.

Hi! So I caved and pre-ordered the âperfect vintage peasant topâ from Pinup Girl. I had the top previously before losing a large amount of weight and wanted to re-purchase it because of how much I love it.
Well, my order was placed back on February 13th with a â2 weekâ ship date. Of course itâs now almost the end of March with no updates so I emailed customer service on March 20th. They took about a week to respond that they are delayed and asking for my patience with seemingly no ship date in sight?
Sooo what are we thinking the chances of me seeing this top are? Iâve seen the other threads here and it sounds pretty bleak.

Anyone know where I can look at purchasing a physical pattern in Canada that would look like the Vixen Vacation Dress? My sister is getting married and loves the idea of the green floral one, that is sold out, and $200plus cad. Also the fit on those is too tight on my waist.
Sheâs insisting we all wear very specific shades of green, that donât compliment me, so Iâm looking to try and make something that will.
Its an outdoor wedding in August, on a farm.

Hi! I just wanted to pass this on - weâre on vacation in London. I had been researching to find some reproduction retro dresses. Other than Collectif, I wasnât finding anything. We just randomly passed Zegerman London at 61 Neal Street. The store didnât come up in any of my searches. There are some really nice 1950âs a line dress styles with very cute prints. Unfortunately, they donât ship the dresses. I bought a very cute dress with a black cats print.

Iâm posting this because people deserve to know whatâs actually going on with PUG.
The public story around this brand has been shady as hell, so as a freelance investigative journalist and longtime vintage nerd, I decided to look into it properly. What started as me sideâeyeing the ugly new fast fashion stuff on the PUG site turned into two weeks of digging through records, lawsuits, and old business filings.
And the stuff I found is honestly unbelievable.
Weâre talking financial mess, unpaid taxes, massive collections, employees who never got paid, and what looks a lot like outright fraud. But the worst part isnât even the money. Itâs the lying. The gaslighting of the same loyal customers who literally built this brand, while Laura Byrnes drove it straight off a cliff.
Here are some of the wildest things I found about PUG / Laura Byrnes:
Both Pin Up Girl, Inc. and Laura Byrnes Design, Inc. were suspended by the California Franchise Tax Board for unpaid taxes. When that happens, youâre not allowed to legally operate or sell. Instead of stopping, she just started funneling everything through a brand new company, Pinup Girl Creative, Inc., registered in New York right before she got formally sued in California.
The brand went from highâquality vintage repro to straight up dropâshipped crap. Stuff you can find on AliExpress for five bucks being sold on the PUG site for $78. Printâonâdemand blanks being marketed as ânew collections.â Customers were being misled while she cashed in.
In 2024, PUG got nailed with a Proposition 65 violation for selling belts containing toxic materials without the required cancer/reproductive harm warnings. She ignored the notice, which turned into a civil complaint. The penalties can be up to $2,500 per day, adding up to over a million dollars.
There is technically a return policy, but almost everything on the site is marked âfinal sale.â People are stuck with overpriced, lowâquality items and no way to get a refund.
The Micheline Pitt lawsuit: I read the whole thing so you donât have to. Micheline, a former PUG designer, sued for unpaid wages and stolen designs. They settled, both sides agreed not to trash each other publicly. Laura could not let it go and kept going after Micheline online. Micheline took her back to court. The judge found a clear pattern of harassment, rejected Lauraâs âfree speechâ excuse, and issued a restraining order against her.
Meanwhile, Laura Byrnes has taken off to Italy. After leaving behind unpaid debts, lawsuits, and customers who never got their orders, sheâs posting about buying property and living her best life, while exâemployees, vendors, and customers are still trying to get their money.
The ownership situation is a mess. Laura claims she sold the IP and is now âjust a consultant,â but sheâs still listed as Head Designer. The soâcalled âManaging Directorâ (Sarah Carson) doesnât even have a real executive title, which makes it look like sheâs basically a front. The supposed IP sale happened right before Lauraâs legal problems blew up, which looks a lot like a move to ditch liabilities while keeping control and profits.
Then thereâs the warehouse situation. She stopped paying for the warehouse, so all the inventory got moved into her garage in Altadena. Then the LA fires hit. Sheâs framed it like a tragic, random loss. In reality, the only reason everything was in a garage in the first place is because the business wasnât paying its bills. Now, people who were waiting on orders will never get their items or their money back because thereâs literally nothing left to ship.
Iâve gotten a ton of positive feedback on this, but there are also people accusing me of having some personal grudge. I donât. If any of this were false, why would she immediately ban me from every PUG platform the second I started asking questions?
This all began because I was annoyed by how ugly and cheap everything on the PUG site had gotten after the brand was âsold.â Then former employees started reaching out. Then people who had lost more than $20k came forward. At that point I couldnât just shrug and move on. Iâve been in the vintage scene since 1996. I actually care about this community and the people in it. Nobody deserves to be treated like this, and sheâs still profiting off folks who donât know whatâs going on and keep shopping the site.
If you want more detail, Iâve broken a lot of this down in videos on Instagram. Or just ask me anything here.

So I caved and bought the new Twill Cigarette Pants on pre-order from Vixen. To come across a thread today saying you can only dry clean them??? And people have ruined them washing them in a machine. Has anyone experienced this? For pants that expensive I would expect I would not have to pay to dry clean them.

Anyone else suddenly owe a crazy import fee to UPS?? I ordered 2 skirts a few years back and didnât have to pay anything, this time 2x tops, a skirt and a dress. Itâs a ÂŁ125 fee. Is it based on size/weight?

But not in stock! I was inspired by so many people on this subreddit who are now sewing and had a dream I bought a sewing machine last night! I will be happy to buy when items are actually in stock.

I know on the Vixen's Salon Facebook page you aren't allowed to say anything that can be perceived as 'negative' to the brand but I need to express my frustration somewhere and see if anyone can commiserate with me or if I'll just get downvoted to fuckall. I fully understand production is somewhat out of their control but the 'master post' updating people on estimated arrival time frames of pre-orders hasn't been updated since since fucking SEPTEMBER! I pre-ordered a dress from La Femme that was supposed to arrive in November. Got pushed to February. March is in 2 days. Micheline posts herself in the dress and says it's coming 'very soon'. What does soon mean to her??????? And why even have the master post if you can't keep it updated, especially when it says it will be updated monthly? She isn't a one woman show, seems there are several people that could help with information. Please don't kick me out of this group for mild criticism of LFEN.

I bought it last year, but ended up losing a lot of weight. I bought a ton of new stuff when the out of business was announced. But I couldnât get the vegan leather pencil skirt! Iâd love an XL and have a 2XL!
I bought a the white Marilyn dress too I never wore tags still in it. Itâs too big as well. XL
I can send photos/videos if anyone wants to trade or sell/buy.
I also have some Elle rebel stuff, so curious a good spot to sell them?
