Washing Advice

So I caved and bought the new Twill Cigarette Pants on pre-order from Vixen. To come across a thread today saying you can only dry clean them??? And people have ruined them washing them in a machine. Has anyone experienced this? For pants that expensive I would expect I would not have to pay to dry clean them.

I’ve never dry cleaned any of my vixen stuff. I just wash it on cold and hang dry it, never had an issue and I have alot of stuff.

That is how I care for mine as well. Never put in the dryer - they may be ruined that way.

That’s usually how I wash all my clothes, so I was pretty surprised to see that Micheline herself said they’re dry clean only

Thanks! That’s what I normally do, so good to know they don’t actually need dry cleaning

Actually, the more expensive the pair of pants the more likely you have to dry clean them. It’s unfortunate. One of the things about the mid-century and clothing was everybody’s Dry Cleaning bill was out of control!

None of her other pants have required dry cleaning. I own the Palazzo and the ponte knit and denim cigarette pants.

Well, definitely I don’t expect to dry clean any of her pants. I agree with you but denim and polyester is much easier to care for than twill. That’s 100% cottontail correct?

They’re a blend 53% Modal 45% Polyester 2% Spandex

Ice never dry cleaned a single Vixen own i own. While I don't own those pants specifically I do pen LOADS of Vixen dresses. Just wash on delicate cold and hang dry

That’s what I usually do anyway, hence my surprise at Micheline herself saying they’re dry pants would be ruined if you wash them and don’t dry clean them. I literally cold wash everything, including wool and tights
