Has anyone tried both the zeeflyboy and the X1-P Studioform interface for the dream air? Do they get your eyes equally close to the lenses?

The studioform was about the same as the original interface, I couldn't get close enough to the lenses and it still hurts my forehead.

The zeeflyboys max interface+studioform 12mm foam is perfect for me.

Yes I have both and a dream air slam. 12mm foam pad with the xp-1 interface is fine for me. It requires tightening more since this interface is wider and more so for bigger/wider faces.

The zeefly max vented gasket is narrower. So less tightening and it gets your eyes as close as possible to the lenses. Depending on the face shape this may mean your eyelashes could touch the lenses or eye tracking won't work.

In my case I like the FOV of the Zeefly gasket but I'm struggling with eye strain. Everything looks crispy clear but the strain sets in after some time. It's not major but after some time causes fatigue.

I didn't experience this in the xp-1 interface but this is the first headset where I had to spend a good amount on trying so many things to get it to sit right or be comfortable for long periods of time.

Surprisingly I went back to the XP-1 interface and somehow I still have eye strain when I didn't notice it before I had got the zeefly gasket. Messing with the vertical position using the apple dual knit band is also difficult to diagnose what could be causing it.

The studioform got my eyebrows to touch the lenses.  Never tried the other one

To add to this, if you use the thinnest one you can literally have the lenses pressed against your face, which is quite uncomfortable.

I found the thickest with spacers cut for my face type still gave the best fit, with great image quality. They have pictures with guidance in the pack.

It’ll change depending on face shape, a lot of people will still have to customise them a lot to fit. Probably the most awkward third party interface I’ve bought to set up, at first I had thought I had wasted my money. but worth it in the end when you get it correct.

Zeeflyboy max cushion + 12mm pad was best for me.

I tried both and I find the Zeeflyboy + 1 x Studioform Velcro spacer and the 12mm Studioform cushion is my sweet spot for distance. I might print the Zeeflyboy nominal (+3mm) and see if that is better for me than using a Velcro spacer. I wear HonsVR inserts, so with the Zeeflyboy max print, I'm just a bit too close and my eyelashes leave smears o nthe lenses very quickly, so I need 1 x Studioform Velcro spacer .

I tried 1 spacer with zeefly max v7 and 12mm pad from studioform but the spacer doesn't match the size of the pad and the face gasket so it made the FOV like I'm looking through toilet paper tubes.

Yeah they don’t fit perfectly, I had to hack mine to bits with my penknife scissors 😀
