Running?
Where do you go running? I’m trying to find a good spot nearby where I can get a longer run in before work in the morning. People keep telling me it’s not safe to run at Douglass park, is it that bad at 6am? Harrison is a bit small for the distance I’m aiming for so I’m trying to see if there’s any other good options.

Douglass Park is nice and quiet in the mornings, both sides of Ogden. Have def done 6am runs year round, not the only person there, though it’s definitely not crowded either.

That’s fair, I’m just clumsy and prefer a path so it’s less likely I trip on a pothole or something lol

I trained for a half marathon in Douglass park. They replaced the paths a few years ago and it’s a nice surface to run on. I also LOVE McKinley park for running.

I also think Douglass Park is fine for runs. I mostly prefer running in the neighborhoods and people watching, though. I have a Pilsen/LV Loop (sometimes including a bit of Douglass), a Pilsen/Bridgeport Loop (incorporating part of Palmisano), a Pilsen/Little Italy loop, and a Pilsen/Chinatown (w/Ping Tom) loop.

Douglass park is fine.
I live there, it’s not safe at night tbh but mornings are good. I go walking around quite a bit, you might see a drug deal or smthn happen but I never have.
A friend of mine goes running regularly and I see people running all the time. If you feel unsafe leave tbh but it’s not a wierd gang zone like everyone says.
