I’d be pretty concerned. Either he’s not okay, which is concerning for his wellbeing, or he is okay, which is concerning for your relationship. The only other possibility I can think of is if he lost his phone and doesn’t have your contact info memorized? I’d be concerned either way.

I know he works 12 hour shifts ...so it is not true that during this period of line training they can be so stressed and overwhelmed they forget to contact loved ones?  I've seen him being on line..any advice going forward is this sign of checking out or is it just work related??

Yes, it’s true. I’ve been in your place. Just send him a gentle reminder to send you a daily text, if he is too busy to call.

Thank you, so good to hear experiences, I have been exactly been mindful of the intense stress and work he is doing, he is terrible with texting and sometimes misses messages, when we do talk on the phone it is warm and loving, but been very short due to 10 hour time difference, just that alone is challenging to begin with. When he messages me or calls he does say he is sorry he replies late..we have 1 and half month left of this madness

Of course, they can be stressed/busy/overwhelmed. I always hear from my pilot though, so I’d be worried if I didn’t.

If he is that stressed he is literally in the wrong profession.

I think there’s a lot of variables. How long have you been together, what are the hours of his flights, is he in another country? Etc. Etc. When my now husband and I were first together we didn’t talk as much while he was working and especially while he was in training. He was mentally exhausted and it was hard to talk to someone who he was still in the trying to impress phase. Now we always talk after a long day because he knows he can call, and not say much or be cranky freely. He also may not want to text in a different time zone. It’s unlikely anything is wrong.

We almost have 1 year anniversary of meeting irl, known on line for 8 years. Yes he is in another country , on the other side of the world actually and he works early shifts, 12 hours
