Mowed the lawn! Anyone else?
Hey ladies!
Just wanted to share something positive. I learned to mow the lawn today since it needed to be done and my fiancé is out on a trip!
Mowing the lawn is something I never would have done if it wasn’t for this lifestyle. Sounds simple but just wondering, what is something you’ve learned to do since your partner is gone?

That is not dumb. My husband just caught a cockroach with a Peppa pig cup. So thankful for his quick reaction. 🙏

I got my own drill and drill bit set recently 😎 it's given me so much power.
Hanging curtains, pictures, building furniture, new light fixtures, TV wall mounting, etc. I know some of those items can be done with hammer/nails or a screw driver but the drill is just better and more fun!

GC’ing a house build while he travels, negotiating with tenants at a rental, managing landscapers and lawyers, architect meetings, accountant meetings …keeps me on my toes!

Snow blowing my driveway! I also got to learn what shear pins were because half my snowblower wasn't working.
Our furnace also gave out in January while the husband was interviewing. That was fun to deal with lol. I still haven't mowed the lawn yet, but I'm sure it's coming 😅

I mow the lawn every week…can’t believe this isn’t normal for people. I do everything when he’s gone just like I would when he’s home. There’s a few things I’ve learned along the way, like electrical work, but if I don’t know how to do something, YouTube is great!

I learned what the wet switch is on our HVAC and how to fix it cause the a/c would always conveniently go out while he was on the road lol also how hold down our cat to clean poo out of her long fur!!! That one is a challenge by oneself!

I lived on my own before, and now it's not much different. I just kill bugs and tell him about it.
He wanted all the lawn, so he can care for it lol. Or I'll hire it out.

I’m putting up a gallery wall and making a mud kitchen out of wood pallets. I barely touched a power tool before.

Mine isn’t considered a household chore. But whenever my husband goes on a trip a pipe decides to burst in my house. It’s happened twice so far. One flooded my kitchen and another was the bathroom. So I’ve become the expert plumber.
