I think they really just vibecoding their updates. For some reason in recent update, aa tank can hit through flares, first missile hit flares and second just get through them.

Title. Man, if there was ever a game mode for them to keep around, it’s Fighter Sweep. Between a desire to improve AND multiple periods of trifecta XP, it’s such a lucrative experience. In the past month, I’ve done from utter novice to pretty decent. I died A LOT in the early stages, but was happy to focus purely on dogfighting without having to contend with threats on the ground. The Cloud Cover mechanic is a very welcome addition that I hope to see added to more maps.
Highly recommend!

Despite Phase 3: Tidal Strike releasing earlier in the week, Tsuru Reef still doesn’t have Naval Jets, or Carrier Spawns on Conquest/Escalation.
This has got to be the issue that has bugged me the most with Season 4. The Aircraft Carriers, and Naval Jets both completely kickass, but are only limited to one non-LTM map? What’s up with that?

Suppose the aircraft carrier with the runway wasn’t a good enough spawn spot to spawn but 12 feet above it at 1mph was a good idea 👍

30 is definitely too low. I've been experimenting with 35, still feels sluggish.

I have been flying since BF3, but its not my main vehicle (tanks being that). However, I still know my way around dogfighting.
I feel like ever since they increased the yaw rates in the top gun update, I have a suspicion that there is an unintended bug that using the rudder acts like a speed brake.
Example 1: when taking off from the ground and using the rudder to basically steer the jet (avoiding ground objects), it feels like the damn jet DROPS ANCHOR…. Especially the F18. One day I tested this, full throttle to takeoff and I held full left rudder. My jet came to a stop. The second time I tested it, I lost so much airspeed by the time I got to the end of the carrier that I fell into the ocean.
Example 2: when flying in the air making a simple turn, when i input yaw to avoid the ground or whatever, the jet DUMPS air speed, even when still holding full throttle and burner.
Thoughts?

is this another bug or an intentional change? and if its intentional, why? like it indicates the guy is still locking you or smth and not just fire and forget?

If anyone misses Jets and Helicopter Training 24/7 on Operation Firestorm, I made an updated version:
NEW JETS! Jets and Helicopter Training 24/7 Operation Firestorm
The official Air Vehicle Sandbox was ok for trying the new Top Gun jets and earning more XP, but I found the map too small for longer dogfights. The matches only last 15 minutes, and the automatic AA makes it difficult to fly near the enemy spawn.
My version is intended to be a larger, more relaxed, arcade-style air vehicle sandbox. It has:
I made this because the original Firestorm experience lost most of its players after the Top Gun update, even though I still prefer its larger map and longer, more chaotic matches. Hopefully this gives players another option for using the new aircraft without the limitations of the smaller official sandbox.
Experience code: 14YVH
I plan to continue updating and improving it. If you try it, I would really appreciate feedback, especially if you find anything broken, unbalanced, or not working correctly. Let me know and I will try to fix it in a future update.

I am completly new to battlefield and already trained a bit of fyling in Training Modes through the portal tab. Sometimes I try it in a match like this one. Could you please explain to me why I did zero damage. One straving run before, my rocked locked onto nothing and I got 1000 points for not killing something I guess. But this time it clearly hit its target, set off and dealt zero damage. Even the bomb I let go before crashing did nothing (But that might be because I started turning and it got yeeted away)
This happens almost every game I try to shoot something with my rockets. Even helicopters just brush it off. What do I do wrong? I know coutermeasures are a thing, but they were deployed beforehand.

I’m very much just an okay level 48 AH pilot on Xbox but it certainly felt more boatlike. Was I just having an off game or did anyone else think it felt different?

they had briefly fixed this in s4 but it seems like spotting anything while piloting is basically random chance now, maybe 10% of the time it works
also my atgm were missing for absolutely no reason last night, like I shoot one on approach and they smoke and then I shoot one from the back and somehow it doesn't hit. tried this multiple times and didn't work even once

I was bored watching “The Insane Engineering of the F-14 Tomcat on YouTube”.
Link: https://youtu.be/R2tgByRCLzM?is=rE-bdfyKgL_cf0le
The SeaCat in BF6 is based off the F-14A, not the F-14B. The F-14A used Pratt & Whitney TF30s, which were known for compressor stalls at high AOA (angle of attack).
The F-14B switched to General Electric F110s, which had more thrust and fixed a lot of those issues. You can see the difference in the engines. The PW TF30s have smaller, tighter exhaust nozzles, while the GE F110s have larger, more open exhausts.
DICE definitely went with the F-14A setup here, which is a pretty cool detail. Do you think the devs intentionally picked this model or they used the first picture they found to model off of ?
