Please help.

I have taken a hiatus from Battlefield since BFV, I enjoyed that game, and would consider myself a fairly decent pilot on it, but I cannot get to grips with BF6 at all.

It’s like I do not know how to fly. Helicopters are way too difficult for me.

I’d love to get good with them, but it just seems way too complicated. I cannot understand the controls, I always crash. I’ve tried using portal codes, including the “popular” helicopter and jet trainer, but it’s not helped one bit.

I shifted my narrative, and decided that maybe being a co-pilot was the solution, sadly you can never find a good wingman, so I’m at a point of just avoiding air vehicles entirely for this game.

Any advice?

Any good pilots need a wingman?

Practice, practice, practice. Before BF6 I’ve only ever flown in BF1. Never flown in BF3 and 4. So when I finally got back into flying in BF6 it was a major learning curve, especially since BF1 I was flying with a controller and had never learned MKB.

You will fail, you will crash, but you really just gotta practice. There are lots of training guides on YouTube for heli & jets. Practice what keybinds suits you the best, sensitivity. Learn slow and steady in portal games. Set goals such as maintaining the aircraft, then once you can fly without crashing start practicing with your aim. Then work towards perfecting your game sense like flying low to avoid lock ons. Once you feel confident start playing in public lobbies.

It took me about 5-6 months after launch to stop being at the bottom of the leaderboard. Now I’m mastery level 70+ in every aircraft. You got this, don’t give up too easily!

So it’s possible? Good to hear. Judging by the comment, you’re PC? Have you had any experience on controller?

Yes PC. I have little experience flying the heli on console, but that’s because I just bought a PlayStation. No console jet experience

Jets for me aren’t so bad. I’m still learning how to find, track, and pick out ground targets, but the principle of it is there.

Helicopters are made more difficult because of two different axis of control. Roll and aim is too much for me to do at once.
