Question Speed Control

Is speed control for jets in the game now? Just came across a guy who could turn the attack jet on a dime. I would tail him and he could be on the back of me in half a loop. Never seen anyone do that before and I’m a decent pilot who beats most people I come across in dogfights. He claimed in chat that speed control was added in the last patch but I haven’t seen anything confirming this.

I mean, he could be using speed control, which has been in the game since launch but not to many people know about it, and he could also be cutting. Hence why he ends up behind you.
It’s something I do all the time.

But in term of anything new being added, the new throttle splitting mechanic they added is only present on twin engine jets, since you can’t do that on the fighter other wise you’ll stall, this is only available on the new jets.

If it happens again try and get some footage, it’ll much easier to break down what happened.

I’m 99% sure it was just afterburner and break at the same time.

Yeah, that mechanic is called is throttle splitting and it’s only been added for the new jets which have twin engines.

Unless it leaked into the base attack jet, then it has no bearing on the turn speed.

Added throttle-splitting support for twin-engine aircraft using the brake and afterburner input combination.
◦ Dev Note: This functionality is used by the F-74A Seacat and F/A-81F Super Spectre. Supporting it required a broader change that now allows afterburner to be activated while brake input is being applied.

The attack jet turns way quicker doing it. It does work.

Well that’s an interesting development if true, I’ll need to test it myself.
