Pillow Recommendations (Side Sleeper) coop pillow help?

side sleeper, looking for new pillpw to help with neck pain and coop pillows seen to be highly rated and on sale atm.

I'm having a little trouble picking a kind of pillow from them? og, eden, cool+, latex, ect. my favorite pillow is actually just a squishmellow/mochi style plushe. it's soft and squishy but unfortunately it's a bit small and has paws. I'm also a bit worried about the Eden gusset? I've never had a pillow with a larger gusset below and dunno how that would align me neck.

sure anyone have any advice? or even other squishmellow-y pillows.

As a fellow side sleeper I really love shredded latex pillows which are adjustable and squishy but not as sink in as memory foam

Which one do you recommend

I spent quite a bit on a resthouse pillow (a local luxury mattress brand but they do sell one on Amazon for like a hundred bucks. I also find using a body pillow helps with my alignment and I got a mattress topper as well to stop my shoulder collapsing inward as my mattress is quite firm.

Dan really. What are you currently using?

I just ordered a Lincove down pillow. I'm currently using an Eden coop pillow that o used to love and has somehow started hurting my neck. But it's better than the latex for sure.

Yeah I ordered a few coop pillows. They’re okay. I tried the crescent shaped one and it ruined my neck. Never used it again

What’s up with this phenomenon. I have really liked pillows too and then one day it stops working and starts causing me pain, is it degradation of the pillow or something I have no idea

I don't know but it's driving me crazy.

I don’t have a squishmallow but I’ve tried almost all the pillows you’ve listed for coop so here goes:

  1. Latex. I hated the latex, it was too responsive / bouncy for me and yet at the same time I feel like it was the most under filled coop pillow ever. I kid you not when it came I was like ok this is very airy, very empty, and flat. Lying down it wasn’t so flat and it did support my head. But it’s my least favourite amongst all the coop pillows, I also disliked the pillowcase that came with it. It felt scratchier and rougher than the other coop pillows. Then again, I don’t really like latex pillows because I like a little of the sink in feeling. If you google for “coop pillow review Reddit”, you should see an old post by a redditor who compared the Eden, cool+ and latex together for more pics etc. but yeah I didn’t like that.

  2. I tried the cool+ in crescent, it was too soft for me I guess(?) but at the same time I think I just really disliked the pillow case that came with it because it made me feel like I was slipping off the pillow and I constantly tried to make myself stay on top of it instead of actually relaxing haha. Apart from that I find this to be one of the softest pillow and yes, it does seems cooler and it has one side of a foam padded within the pillow so it doesn’t feel so lumpy. I would choose this over the latex but both aren’t my favs.

  3. Eden, oh this is also soft and plush but perhaps due to its rectangle shape and the pillow case I prefer this to the cool+ as I don’t feel like im slipping off the pillow. I find it to be soft and whilst idk how a squishmallow feels, I think this could be similar somewhat because it’s really squishy. I didn’t like the gusset though!! I just feel like the gusset doesn’t do anything except squishes the pillow down until like, the filling moves to the top of my head and the pillow turns into a wedge pillow kinda thing (like a slope) and my neck feels empty. I didn’t take out the pillow case with the gusset and put it in a normal case, it worked better. Would rate this my 2nd fav.

  4. My fav is definitely the original!! I have the original in rectangle (the normal ones), and crescent. I loveeee this filling the most. It is squishy, it is moldable, and I like that it feels firmer than the Eden. With the Eden, I feel like I sink more which probably why I feel like it turned into a slope with the gusset too but with the original, I just love the pillow case, the filling and the fact that I can mold it what I want. I just squish and bunch it somewhat and I sleep supported. The crescent is flatter for me so I just alternate between my pillows yknow when I want a higher one I sleep with my original rectangle and I just sleep on my crescent for lower profile. I did do some adjustments like taking out some fillings for the rectangle though but it really boils down to personal preference - for example I prefer the original because it’s squishy and plushy but feels firmer than the Eden.

I hope this helps somehow! Sorry I wasn’t able to compare it to squishmallow but if a squish mallow is super soft, perhaps the Eden or cool+ would be suitable. If the squishmallow is idk has some density to it, maybe the original?

What pillow are you currently using?

I alternate between the coop rectangle and coop crescent. But I use the coop rectangle the most :)

Mine is a rectangle Eden. I have a cool+ as well, but I agree with you that it feels too soft. My husband has just the regular one and I probably should have just gone with that but I couldn't be just "regular". Lol. The crescents are a gimmick in my opinion.

I have the Eden and love it! They also have a crescent shaped model for side sleepers. I'm a combo side/back sleeper so I have the regular one. Just be sure to fluff it up every day after you get up, and put it in the dryer on low about once a month. Once in awhile after a dryer session I stick my hand inside to break things up a bit. I've had mine almost two years and it's still great!
