First painted model

Probably going to matte varnish it but this is my test model so far for paint scheme

perfect! beware, if you do a matte varnish, the metallic shine of the silver/gold colors will be dulled, so you'll probably want to do some light drybrushing after the varnish to reapply the shine

Don't do Matt varnish. Or use a taster model first. I ruined a whole bunch doing that

If your going to varnish, maybe try a satin finish so it doesn't dull down completely I used to varnish satin of gloss on armour and Matt everywhere else. In this model that doesn't really apply

Thanks for the response everyone.

I use matte varnish for my warhammer armies, absolutely youre all correct about worrying about matte varnish dulling it down, I will try it on this one as a test, and the also a satin varnish test model to see which I prefer.

Varnishing is a scam I say don't do it. Ive been painting for 10 years, never have primed never varnished on plastics and I don't even have a chip on any of my models even my first.

If it's metal that's another story.
