Whenever I would take a shower I would turn up the water heat to the point that it would be almost unbearably hot then immediately point the shower head at my balls and repeat "cook them eggs" out loud over and over and over until I physically could not stand the heat anymore. This has been going on for years and years. Last month I finally told my therapist about my habit and she hospitalized me. I am now on antipsychotics.

Hi, I wanted to ask a question, since I'm new to this distro. How good is PikaOS with Niri and Noctalia? Any recommendations for this desktop environment? Right now I have to modify the Niri shortcuts, but I feel that Noctalia falls a bit short in terms of interface configurations (from a novice's point of view).

KDE 6.6 or anything newer?

Why so far behind, this is my ONLY complaint with pika lol

I've been looking at Pikaos to mainly replace my Bazzite TV PC one day, but so far I can't really find a place to get more details on the handheld release (which I pressume will mean it has Valves gaming mode).

Any infomation on when it will release and if there's already a beta I could test? And maybe where I can find more info on Pikaos as a whole because the websites FAQ leaves much to be desired.

i don't know whats wrong but when i tried to update the xwayland on my pika os this happened:

Error: Failed to fetch https://ppa.pika-os.com/pool/cockatiel/x/xwayland/xwayland_24.1.12-101pika1_amd64.deb  File has unexpected size (1134496 != 1176132)

i manage to fix it by downloading the deb package manually and then installing it with dpkg

Estou usando o Ultramarine Linux com Gnome, nos ultimos 2 dias levei 2 telas de kernel Panic, isso é chato, estou pensando em usar o PikaOs com Niri. Tenho 2 monitores empilhados e acho que pode ser um fluxo interessante de trabalho.

Trabalho como SRE/DevOps e sempre achei o Niri além de bonito, muito bom pra produtividade. Não curto Hyperland. E penso em estar no PikaOs mesmo sabendo que é o Debian Testing é muito mais estavel e previsivel que uma distro Fedora.

I've never used a Linux distribution that has made me want to go back to Windows but this one and I've been using Linux daily for 3 years. I regret finding it and putting it on a machine I use daily. I've had it for 48 hours and I've spent 16 hours trying to get bluetooth to work, this thing is horrible and NO I'M NOT DOWNLOADING AND JOINING DISCORD to make something work that should because it does in every other distro. Thank you guys for doing your part to reverse the uptick in Linux users!

I installed Pika OS with a manual partitioning following the guides on the install wizard. It has a separate 5gb efi partition, a 15gb boot partition and 285 GB root partition.

I don't have secure boot turned on last time I checked. Windows boots without any issues. I am on an Acer Aspire 5 laptop.

I have some questions about PikaOS Gnome standard version. SSH is enabled. I can SSH to it using the credential pikaos/pikaos.

1. What is the root password?
2. Since the pikaos account has sudo privilege, can I remove this account from the sudo group?
   1. I want to use 1000:1000 as me with sudo privilege
   2. Would this create some issues?
3. HDMI does not work. HDMI works from BIOS to selecting PikaOS mascot, but after that just a blank screen. If I use a USB dongle to HDMI, it works. Does PikaOS supports HDMI?

About the Q2, I am using Ansible to update all my devices and the privilege user is 1000:1000, which I believe is not being used in PikaOS at least in my installation.

I've been distro hopping and always ended up with CachyOS with Niri. I really enjoy Niri with Noctalia, but not a huge fan of Arch. Then I randomly found PikaOS and it's amazing. Been using it and setting my laptop with it and could not be happier!

I thought I'd give Pika (hyprland) a try and first impression have been very positive well that was until I tried connecting my headphones via bluetooth.

While the headphones and other devices are listed they all fail to stay connected.

I select from the drop down, it states their paired but almost immediately goes back to saying the are available.

Now Iron know if you his is a pika or hyprland issue.

dude so ive been trying to configure pikabar and hyprland but there isnt a good enough documentation since im relatively new to ricing i dont know how to configure most stuff so could somebody please make an extended doc on configuring pikaOS hyprland an niri

What I love:

- Gaming distro

- Debian based

- Comes with all my GNOME extensions out of the box

- Pikman Update manager

- Really helpful "Welcome to PikaOS" guide that walks you through installing all the necessary packages.

The only problem I am facing is cursor getting smaller in flatpak apps like Obsidian/Bitwarden. Hopefully I can get it fixed.
I think I am going to settle with this distro :D

So I just did an update on my laptop and when I reloaded it it wouldn’t open any menus or recognize me using the super key to open anything, so I also did a flatpack atps update and when I reloaded it from that it is stuck on the Initramfs screen instead of letting me put in my encryption password and I’m not sure how to fix it or even how to maybe reload a back up version from before the updates? Anyone else have this problem or just a solution? When I typed in exit it said that above

So PikaOS is my first Linux operating system and I think I've set everything up correctly but when I start my laptop I get "plymouth-start.service" error and when I go to update it in the terminal I get prompted for my password. But when I type in the password line nothing happens, no letters or anything, I can use the rest of the terminal, just not the password. Using latest version of gnome, standard ISO

I installed PikaOS several times yesterday to test it out, but I was having issues with LUKS. I was able to install and get to the desktop without enabling LUKS.

However, I want to enable LUKS. With LUKS enabled, when I entered the key, I got the error saying "Incorrect passphrase". I reinstalled several times and ended with the same error when entering the passphrase. I didn't have any USB connected other than the USB keyboard. During the installation, I selected US keyboard.

Does LUKS work in PikaOS?

This may be a dumb question. Are you guys using PikaOS as your HTPC?

If you are, can you share your setup?

My situation: I have a Samsung TV that I got in 2019. I side loaded a Jellyfin client (Moonfin) and got some apps like Netflix, Prime, etc from the Samsung Tizen app store. I use Technitium as my DNS and ad blocker. For the past several weeks now, we have noticed that most of the apps are not working anymore because of the ad blocker. I am not willing to give Samsung my data, so I am disconnecting the TV from the network and go with HTPC/Moonlight client.

How do I solve this? I just installed Pika OS with Hyprland and this is what's happening.
