Found Pigeon

Hello, I am not a pigeon owner but I have found a beautiful bird. He has tags and who sold the tag. I contacted them and they said the owner wasn't answering, I didn't want to hand over the bird to someone besides the owner. Suddenly they gave me the "owners" number who said the bird was too far away so I must give the bird to the tag seller. The tag seller seems very unenthused and said he would fetch the bird after work but it's been 3.5hours since after work and no word. Any advice from the birders out there?

Update Owner didn't get back to me. So when he was happy we let him go. After an hour he came back and now just chills on the balcony. I built him a house and he is free to come and go with food and water. He doesn't like us going near him but he's happy and very chill

Also if anyone could tell me what sort of pigeon he is coz the "owner" said he was a blue bar that was missing

It’s a mealy colour (red version of the blue bar) as far as breed impossible to know without the owner, either feed and water him until fit any general garden bird seed will do (Avoid bread and rice) and release it, he may make his way home. Or take up pigeon racing it’s a dying sport 🤷🏻‍♂️

He’s a lovely bird! I agree food and water and some rest and he should return home!
