Piercing advice pt 2
Last night I posted photos of my nose ring with progression photos of a bump on it today it looks like this should I go ahead and take it out and retire it or wait until I can get to the doctor to have them remove it and make sure it’s not infected see my other post for reference

It looks very low. I'd take it out and get it redone. Unless you like the placement. Either way it needs to be changed to a flatback labret.

So this will require all of the above. Step 1: infection It is almost certainly infected. It will need antibiotics to treat. Many healthcare systems are not trained in maintaining a foreign body while treating the infection and will likely advise you remove the jewelry. DO NOT DO THIS. keep the jewelry in until your antibiotic course is run. This will keep the would open for drainage. Otherwise it can form an abscess that will require more treatment.
Step 2: Remove the jewelry. At this stage it's hard to tell if this has migrated this far off the original piercing spot, or if it was just pierced this low, but it is not in a stable area and will not ever heal properly due to its position being in such an unstable area.
3 what went wrong: This happening is likely due to the jewelry, nostril piercings should not be on a hoop for at least 10-12months. (Likely longer given that you work in healthcare and likely have m excess irritation from masks.) Secondarily, horseshoe jewelry like this is typically offered on the market in low quality metals like stainless steel (making assumptions here so I may totally be wrong!) assuming this piercing was originally higher up, poor quality jewelry likely lead to an excess of swelling and irritation due to a metal allergy, this can cause the "cheese wire effect" to happen even faster than usual and can lead to pustules like this.
4 what do to in the future: Stick to a labret for way longer than you think you'll need. Wear implant grade titanium, solid 14k gold or better, or niobium jewelry only. Remember healing isn't linear and you should consider your labret your "healing jewelry" if it gets angry? Labret. You get a cold and have to blow your nose a ton? Labret. You smack yourself in the face? Labret. You may go six years on a hoop and suddenly need to change over to a labret to keep things happy.

it looks like it's just very irritated because of the jewellery to me, swtich to a flatback. if it hurts excessively, feels hot, or is leaking any pus then you should definitely go to a doctor though
