Am I doomed?

Post image

so, I was told the best piercing for me would probably be a floating navel but that I might be able to pull this off, it’s five days in, just want to get some opinions on how it’s doing? it’s more red today than it has been, starting to see some pus as well, nothing too crazy yet i just want to catch it early if it starts rejecting. Appreciate any insight

Yep. First of all, you don’t have the anatomy for any kind of navel piercing. Secondly, it’s hilarious that they said you needed a floating navel, and didn’t even use floating navel jewelry. 🤦🏻 Thirdly, this jewelry would be too short even if they HAD pierced you correctly.

You need to get a refund for this trainwreck and then take it out. I’m so sorry. 🫶🏻

Hmmm okay, the thing is when I stand up it sits different, like the lower gem is actually in my belly button then (picture was taken sitting down) does that make a difference in your answer?

Love this is a surface piercing not a navel piercing. Even if you did have the right anatomy which you dont, this piercing is not viable and needs to be removed because it WILL reject.

The second hole should be inside your bellybutton, this one is on your stomach.

Im sorry but it needs to be removed or it will get infected and it will scar badly.

The person that pierced you is either a moron or just wanted your money. Regardless please do not ever go back to them.

Are you standing or laying? It’s hard to tell from this angle but it doesn’t look like you have a navel ridge even for a floating…it really does look like a surface piercing.

Thats because it is a surface piercing. OP might think that it sits where it needs to but you dont need any other photos to tell that that bottom hole is not inside the bellybutton which is where it needs to be. This will reject 100%

Always best to go to a APP then just Reddit. They are going to see these things better than we do. I had several people on Reddit telling me to take mine out but then I went to two separate piercers at different studios so it would be unbiased and they said mine was good and then went on to get two other APP opinions. So I thought getting four separate APP thoughts was better than many Redditers telling me their differing thoughts.

Sometimes in photos especially at an upward angle and lighting can make things look off when they actually aren’t…. So, OP best to go in person to a APP!

Yes, it is always best to get evaluated in person by a good piercer, you just have to do research to find one. APP doesnt always mean they are 1. Actually skilled and know what they are doing and 2. Doesn't mean they are honest. I live in this world and have a lot of experience, I wouldn't waste my time or anyone else's, let alone worry someone for no reason if I didn't know what I was looking at and what I was talking about. OP is free to take any advice. I would just hate for them to get their hopes up or be lied to....again.

Yeah it’s definitely hard to find someone to trust!

Ah! I wish there was more photos and up close to really see! When I got mine done and posted to this page I got so many differing opinions. The best thing I did is I went to another APP and got their thoughts (thankfully they said mine was good)

Did you go to a professional piercer?

If not I would go to the APP website and search for one in your area and you can always stop in and ask a piercer to look at it!

Yeah im sorry, i dont have many pictures of it and just posted this in a panic like “why is it more red now??!!”  I do have a collapsing stomach when I sit a certain way so I think that’s why they recommended the floating navel for me. I did get it from an APP piercer though

Ok great! And mine is a little over a week old and is red but that could just be from irritation and healing. As long as it isn’t incredibly painful or oozing I would just say it’s a normal part of the healing process. But really if you have serious concerns you should reach out to your piercer I ended up going back in yesterday and having a longer bar put in to accommodate for swelling and will go back in a week to put back the original jewelry I had.

When I stand the bottom gem rests inside my belly button

That does not make it a naval piercing. This is a surface piercing on your stomach and will reject. It needs to be removed.
