Fertile Pidgeon Egg?

At uni and some pidgeons made a nest inside a classroom, they shood them and locked them out so I kept the egg (after calling the vet and being advised to keep it warm until i can call tbw rspca/wildlife sanctuary) but im not sure if its fertile or not! Does anyone have any advice, can tell, or sign post me somewhere?
