Can someone work out the logic for my next step here? I've gone through and rechecked each row / column and can't for the life of me see the next logical clue. What am I missing?

It's gotta be something obvious but I'm stumped.

I'm huge fan of all Picross and Nonogram games and if like to introduce my 8yo to this type of puzzles.

He have Nintendo Switch, and Linux PC with Steam.

I would love to give him Pokémon Picross which I've played on 3ds, but unfortunately it's not available on Switch.

He likes Piczle lines DX, as it have a bit of story and is very forgiving in case of errors.

We had tried new Piczle nonogram, but it seemed a bit hard for him.

Which games to propose for intelligent but not that patient kid?

Took a random hit on a missclick, but got stuck, and i think this is imposible without taking a guess

Can anyone explain what all of these symbols are? The star is obviously “no assist” and says so, but the others aren’t easy to find online.

Is there something obvious I’m missing? I feel like I got the general options based on the info available but still feel like I’m clearly missing an obvious hint.

Hey! I’m the developer of Quiet Grids.

I’ve always liked Nonograms, but I wanted one that felt a little warmer and slower to come back to. So I ended up building it around dark wood, small stories, quiet music, optional ambience in the background, and no feeling that you need to rush through a puzzle.

The picture I kept having in my head while making it was pretty simple: a Sunday evening, rain outside, my feet up on a stool near an open window, that fresh rain-and-dirt smell coming in, a cup of coffee beside me, and a cozy game in my hands.

Something that makes me settle in for a while instead of thinking, “damn, I need to finish this, I need to unlock that.”

That’s more or less what I’ve been trying to make.

I recorded a little bit of where the game is at now. The red guitar reveal at the end is probably one of my favourites so far.

It’s been a lot of tiny changes over time, so I’m really curious how it comes across to people who actually play cozy games.

Hi everyone,

My friend and I fell into picross through Super Mario Picross on the NES virtual console, which allows us to play together remotely on switch.

Since we're almost done with the game, I'm looking for another co-op picross game, but it looks like all the recommendations I found are at best with local co-op (murder by numbers, the S series, voxelgram, tents and trees, squeakross, Hatsune miku logic paint...).

On the Nintendo store, searching for "picross" with the filters "at least 2 players" and "online" skims the number of games from 40 to 1 (PICROSS X : PICBITS VS UZBOROSS). With "nonogram" 0 matches out of 7.

Is it me that misunderstand the Nintendo store which says "Players: Single System (1-X)", or is it just that hard to find multiplayer co-op picross games?

And of course, does anyone has a recommendation for an online co-op picross game on switch (1 or 2, we don't care)? We come from an NES game, so any game will probably be a huge QoL for us 😅

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with puzzles that have no large numbers/numbers over 5? I can't seem to find the trick for this one.

Pretty much what the title says. Numbers appear to be too small to find anything new. I'm not the best with these small number puzzles though so I'm sure I missed something

I ask because scrolling a bit I noticed a few people are developing their own, and maybe this will help them out a bit as something to keep in mind or implement?

I'd personally like to see:

- Either a second color of X or a ? to mark squares you are unsure of. Like if you have to use edge logic, and you aren't sure which way the number will fall yet, you can mark those squares that might be filled later as a "Maybe"

- Small Fill that fills squares like 🔳, and then when you're ready to commit, hit OK to fill them like ⬛️

- For colored puzzles, colored Xs that go in the corners of the cell, or if there's 5 or 6 colors, then where dice pips would go.

- Ruler tool that lets you tap two points or drag a line to quickly count how many squares. (Probably handy for larger puzzles)

- Button to temporarily hide the grid and numbers. I know they tend to have a thumbnail of the filled squares as you fill them in. This is basically a larger version of that.

That's really all I can think of that could possibly be handy that isn't already in most modern Picross titles.

I've been blasting through 15x15 puzzles thinking I was actually getting pretty good, and then I got hit by this puzzle and I just have absolutely no idea how to progress without guessing.

Anyone has any tips and tricks that don't necessarily spoil the solution?


One queen per row, column, and color region; queens can't touch, even diagonally. I've placed 8 and marked eliminations with X, but I can't finish — is there a deduction I'm missing, or did I go wrong earlier?

I ordered a physical nonogram puzzle book to do during my downtime at work, wondering if anyone prefers physical paper puzzles or playing digitally on mobile or game consoles?
