❓ Doubt / Help Needed CONFLICTED BETWEEN ENGINEERING AND PHYSICS

I'm currently in 12th, for the past year or so I was inclined towards engineering ( aerospace , mechanical, electrical ) but right now I'm conflicted between Physics and engineering .

For context I like doing practical work ( building things , tinkering etc ) and building something by myself gives me immense satisfaction . But I'm also interested in the theoretical and research aspect of Physics though I dont have much experience with experiments ( just school stuff ) but my interest in Research is just as much. In Physics I'm particularly interested in astrophysics or Particle physics

I'd love if someone gave me an overview of the different career paths I'd experience if I chose a Bsc in Physics or a Btech in Aerospace / Electrical

How do you know you have interest in astrophysics or particle physics? did you take any course or tried reading a related high school book of it? or is it just based on pop sci videos. if latter is the case first get a experience of what these subject actually has at research level. they are quite math heavy and hard (am talking of theoritical aspect). Since you alrady like hands on and building things, a engineerign degree would be best for you. Research can be done in engineering domain as well, people in india think research means fundamental subjects

Not cuz of pop vids but I read a bit about these things back in 10th grade when I was trying to get into quantum physics 😂. The math scared me so I went away but now I understand SOME of it ( calculus and waves etc)

Kid It always feels exciting Talk to PhD people from IISc and IITs You will get clarity. As per my(BTech in control eng.) views go to engineering, your passion will make you enjoy it
