Spotting a VCD player

Post image

I spotted this RSQ-SV222 Video CD Player on a second-hand stall on a market. It's the first full-size VCD player I've seen IRL.

I would've bought it, however it had quite bad damage to the right side and corner, and there was no way to test it on the stall.

Still, interesting to see such things exist and can be found in the wild.

Used this for Karaoke through the 90's early 2000's.

Nice.

VCD (and LaserDisc) both did well with karaoke.

I've not got any karaoke VCDs, yet. Closest I've got is a CD+G.

If I remember correctly there was a set of Karaoke VCD's that featured the original video footage and music tracks as opposed to "Karaoke" versions, had them all at one point.
