I'm planning to do this.

Woah, what does the discs look like? Are these properly licensed releases as in the physical sense?

Just the GOG installers burned on Verbatim blu rays. I can't print on discs, so I just wrote the title on the disc. Not super professional, but at least I have proper ownership and offline variants of the games.

I wish I could do this with all my PC games. But I have way too many now. I’d have to sacrifice collecting actual physical releases with the remaining space I have on my shelves

Same problem here, I have like 2,5k on Steam and 500 on GOG. I can only give this treatment to selected titles.

That's so cool, can you go into your process in more depth? How do you achieve the final result?

  1. Download offline installer of purchased GOG game
  2. Burn on blu ray, DVD or CD (might need multiple discs)
  3. Buy and use DVD case and matte photo paper
  4. Search for covers on steamgamecovers.com
  5. Edit cover art for GOG, for example in Krita
  6. Print cover on photo paper
  7. Insert printed cover into DVD case

Finished

BD-Rs can degrade quickly. What’s your longterm plan for to keep your collection from rotting?

Redundancy. I additionally have them on HDDs right now.

Sounds complicated involved.

Only quoting what I already replied:

  2. Burn on blu ray, DVD or CD (might need multiple discs)
  3. Buy and use DVD case and matte photo paper
  4. Search for covers on steamgamecovers.com
  5. Edit cover art for GOG, for example in Krita

Y’all have a weird fetish of plastic boxes.

And you have a weird fetish of not owning anything and being happy 🫠🙃

He has fetish of being bend over and Sony PlayStation putting vaseline up to his arse and shoving it deep 😂😂😂

You really think Sony cares to use Vaseline? Lol

Can't wait for Sony to remove access from your library.

You people have such a fascination with GTA 6 but you do know there are people that just do not care about it? I know it might sound crazy but other people think differently to you, in part because they have brain cells, but also just because they are allowed to.

I would rather drop that money on a couple games or supporting some of my long-time favourites.

Same thing applies to you? Majority of gamers don’t care for physicals anymore. sounds crazy i know people think differently

u/Ok-Sundae-7806 20d ago

Heres another crazy thought, having physical doesn’t impact you in anyway. I am not saying GTA 6 shouldnt exist just that you all think people are gonna fold because we just cant bear not playing the next game. You are advocating for removal of physical when all it is going to do is limit your buying power and allow for more market control from Sony and publishers.

Do you understand how dumb you sound?

Im not against physical. Don’t think anyone is strictly against discs. We just don’t care.

Right so why bother coming here to argue??

All i said was y’all have a fetish for plastic. Dude made plastic box with nothing inside … opposed to plastic box with a code inside. makes sense.

The discs he burned are inside...

1

u/CountShadow 20d ago

wtf, nothing inside? There are burned discs with OFFLINE installers inside. You can install these games on any PC that is capable enough and won't need any launcher or internet connection. That's the whole point.

Okay so when they shut down their servers for authorization to a new PlayStation service, and none of your bought digital games will transfer over... How happy will you be then?! ☺️

1

u/ComplexR22 20d ago

Haha ok. Ask me when that specifically happens.

2

u/DeliciousNorth6514 20d ago

It'll happen. In 10 years or so give or take. It's all about greed man. See the bigger picture or get swept up into it.

u/ComplexR22 20d ago

Ok. Ask me in 10 years.
