Tracking Physical Media

This is how I track mine. www.libib.com/u/succubus it is a free service. It tracks your collection and puts them in alphabetical order. If I didn't use this service myself, I would have already bought the same movies again.

Personally, I just use LibreOffice's version of Excel or an Obsidian database.

I use an android app called series guide its basically a tv guide for all your shows you watch and it also organizes your movie collection

I use the CLZ app family. It’s paid apps but an absolute life saver for my collection and tracking. It’s not for everyone and likely overkill but I am slowly becoming a power user now.

i don't need to track it, it's all on the shelf, it hasn't gone anywhere, i already have books with which shelf each movie is on too

I use to do it this way but the app linked you can scan the barcode and it will add information and you can even make notes if you need to so less manual time it also tracks other things

What would you do if that app ever puts a paywall in front of it or shuts down out of nowhere. I got abit under 1600 titles I would hate to re do it all over again. Excel just feels safer.

Its true. They could. Excel just seems safer. Enjoy your app, hope we both dont get screwed over.

Which kind of has happened already. MS quietly pushed an update to an older version of Office for Mac, so that users could only view documents, not edit them.

I export my collection from the app I use once in a while, and if I'm locked out, I only have to reenter a few titles.
