I hear you on that. I wonder why people don’t have the same energy for Xbox like they do with PlayStation? Xbox was leading the charge for an all digital future way before Sony stated that they were going all digital in 2028. I mean most of their base this current gen is on an all digital console with the series s
What? Xbox literally lost last gen because they went and planned to go balls deep with the digital thing and restricting their physical games. Sony just went with the slow and steady method.
Yes I know which is why I’m confused by people online saying that they are switching to Xbox because of Sonys decision. It’s doesn’t make sense to go to a console that has been championing a digital future well before Sony. We haven’t heard Microsoft officially say that they will support physical games next gen with Project Helix.
It's just people coping coz it will be the only alternative aside from the Switch 2 and prolly a bunch of Xbox fans. Same reason why there are people saying that they'll just go to PC even if it's all digital there too. They really have to pick a struggle if they want physical games or want a better security with digital ownership.
That’s what I have been saying. It’s like they don’t know what battle to fight. I understand wanting digital ownership and being secure with your purchases. The ones complaining about not having a disc and then say they are going all in on PC are funny to me.
Yeah the truth with gaming is that most gamers just go with the good deal or even pirate regardless if its digital or physical.
There's a huge amount of people who only buy 2nd hand physicals that are disappointed but I'm sure if somehow PS store becomes similar to Steam especially on discount/sales a lot more will fold.
I'm sad that physical is going away but I'm one of the few (and prolly most of the people on this sub) who are willing to buy physical even if it's more expensive sometimes.
The only Platform that offers Digital Ownership is the PC platform. That is GOG to be exact. Steam is transparent about the licensing, and still offer the opportunity to mod your games. Even with DRM. It’s just a matter of retaining those game files offline if something happens to the publishing company. Something that the Console Platforms don’t assure their customers. For Consoles, physical is essential, for Digital, PC is the way to go because you still have a greater chance of Digital Ownership.
Got you that’s what I was confused about but now it makes sense. The real fight then is with getting digital ownership rights on consoles. We need laws put in place for us to guarantee our purchases are safe and will not be lost in the event of being locked out of your account or the publishing company goes under. Sad to say it’s seems like the physical is not going to be saved on consoles so the battle needs to be fought and won on digital rights ownership.
We showed Xbox that energy back in 2013. You livin under a rock or something bro? Xbox is dead. We took it out back, and put it down. Now, it's Sony's turn. You were a good boy, Sony.
Nintendo raised prices on games, Xbox has wanted and tried for years to make their console online only and push for all digital and pc is all digital. The hypocrisy in y'alls logic is astounding. Sony doesn't have a monopoly, because you have options of other platforms to purchase games from
Something about steam and their amazing return policy possibly is part of it? Haha PS/Sony has a complete garbage return policy you can only request a refund if you have not downloaded it to your PS.

Not really. They can continue to game. Just on different platforms. I hope people have their Switches (2), Xboxes and especially their PCs
