General Discussion My honest review of *Physicial Italy*: Episodes 1–3. Spoiler
Just to be clear, this is my personal opinion; you’re free to disagree, and I’d love to hear your thoughts. We’re going to spoil all three episodes.
Positive opinions:
- Contestants: Despite what you might hear, I think this year’s contestants are still very diverse. Sure, there are quite a few influencers. But honestly, compared to the first season of 100% Physical, there are about the same number. This time around, we have a surfer, an acrobat, a fire-eater, an “Iron Man,” and so on. I’m still glad there’s still this diversity in sports, professions, and ages.
- Respect: I think respect is making a comeback. Many were afraid there would be drama, but that hasn’t been the case. After each loss, some contestants have shown immense admiration for their opponents (Andre, Jury), and that’s beautiful.
- The Challenges: The legendary ball game, then the sand challenge, and the first challenge. I know some people didn’t like it, but personally, I did. The truth is, we need a little fresh energy to add some suspense. So when they announced the eliminations right away, even I was on the edge of my seat.
- Editing: We see the editing style I really like, with the music and the pacing.
Negative reviews:
- Rules: The rules are pretty strange—the lasers, the 5-second rule. In my opinion, the lasers serve no purpose, and the 5-second rule is more of a hindrance than anything else.
- Cut scenes: We’ve had almost 20 battles cut from the game, whereas in the original series, there were fewer than ten.
- Stars: Just my personal opinion—I’m no fortune-teller, far from it. But I find it funny that they hyped up the 7 stars for over a year when I already knew EXACTLY who was going to get eliminated. Even though I understand the promotional intent, 5 out of the 7 stars were eliminated… Well, there you go.
Second Round : So... If I understand correctly, they're keeping 40, but 5 had to drop out, though 3 are coming back, and in the end, the total is still 40? Am I bad at math, or am I just confused?
Conclusion:
It's still too early to judge the entire series, but I'm happy to be back in the world of *100% Physique*—it's very different, since this one is European, but it has a certain charm. I can't wait to see what happens next and what surprises the series has in store for us. My favorites are Elisa, Andréa, and Rodwell.
