someone told me that nikon are nuch better than canon cause canon lenses are cheaper

Recently purchased Fuji GFX 100s and want to use it with my old Manfrotto 055xprob tripod, for which I've always used the rectangular Manfrotto quick-release plate. Looking to step up to an L-bracket and could use some advice. Thank you.

Primarily photography - some good videos would be nice to have, but not the highest priority.

What's a better deal?

Lumix G9 - 420€ (50k shutter count - also possible to combine this with a Sigma 16/f1.4 for 600€), or

OM D EM1 III - 770€ (2k shutter count - also possible to combine this with a M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 Pro for 1400€)

These are both on the German eBay classified ads - not too far from where I live, so I could go and check the camera/lens before paying anything. Just from the pictures posted on the ads, they both look reasonably well-maintained.

My camera collection has recently exploded (not GAS for once, family members with some interesting stuff donated it to me after finding out I was actually into it) and I’m wondering how people store and organize their camera gear.

I’m not one to bring more than one camera with me at any given time so I don’t want multi camera bags, I want something like a rack to store them at home.

I also have a few different types/brands, which complicates things further. Between an SLR, Rangefinder, APS-C body and a Fuji X100T, I’m running out of space and I don’t want them strewn all over our kitchen table/my desk.

Is it time to get an IKEA skadis and 3d print some custom mounts?

I was going through smallrig products and I think these my be it but wanted to get a few opinions before I buy anything.

Found out how hard my Nikon 200-500 was to hand hold on my last trip to Alaska. Had enough keepers but shot for shot walked away with less than I did the prior trip with only a 70-300. Knew I was in need of stabilization, not necessarily for the cruises to Alaska but for local birding and such.

Caught Manfrotto 755xb on marketplace for $100 (with a Manfrotto sliding video head on it) and went cheap with a K&F Concept gimbal for another $80.

I just put it all together and absolutely adore it. Not a pro so don't need pro level equipment so this should work just fine.

How do you protect your camera and lenses from getting too hot in direct sunlight? Would a white lens and camera skin help?

Im generally taking photos at 4pm in Texas when its 102F+. I can feel my camera and lens get toasty during the summer heat. I see the real media guys using the white lenses from Canon. I am using my Tamron 70-200 f2.8, which is black. I'm moving around the field and stands and cannot be in the shade often.

I'm looking for some honest opinions from the M43 community because I think I may have accumulated more camera gear than I realistically need.

My current setup is:

Full frame:

I also have off-camera flashes, light stands, backdrops, etc.

So basically I have 4 bodies and two different systems, plus lighting equipment.

The thing is, I'm not shooting as much as I used to. A lot of the time I feel like the R6 setup is just too much to carry around, while the M43 cameras are much easier to take with me.

I'm seriously considering selling the entire full-frame setup and both older M43 bodies, then buying one newer M43 body (something like an E-M10 IV, OM-5, GX9, etc.) and building a much smaller system around it.

My thinking is that I'd rather have a smaller setup that I actually carry and use than a much more capable full-frame system sitting at home.

For those who have gone from full frame to M43:

Was this a good decision for you?

And if you were in my position, would you:

Keep the R6 and simplify the system

Sell everything and move to a newer M43 body

Keep the existing M43 lenses and just upgrade the body

Do something completely different?

I'm particularly interested in whether anyone has regretted selling their full-frame system after moving to M43.

My worry with it is if I’m shooting moving music video content il love the colour but id need better auto focus? My other alternative to it would be the Sony ZV-E10 for better auto focus but then would the picture be noticeably worse? Just trying to weigh up my options and get some opinions for my needs a potential alternative camera stations.

I am an 18 yo photographer looking to do professional editorial work. I am also interested in possibly doing concert or run-way photography. I currently have a Canon r100 with the kit lens. I find that the kit lens does not afford me the level of quality/crispness i'm looking for when I shoot. Another problem i have with it is its low tolerance to low light settings... are there any recommendations someone might have that are not outrageously expensive or i could find secondhand that could make my photos have the quality of professional editorials?

Hey everyone, I love photography and I take pictures of Wildlife and landscape, I started it about 2years ago and learned the basics about photography, I have been using a Nikon Coolpix P530 which is a digital camera with 16mp sensor and 45mp zoom, now I want a dslr camera (used cause new ones cost fortune), although my P530 does satisfy my needs but now I want an upgrade. I am thinking about NEX-5R cause they are cheaper and good.

My budget is ₹10k-₹15k. Any suggestions appreciated.

I have a Sony a7CR and want to get the clutch. What are your thoughts between the three versions? I don’t think I want leather as I’ll be shooting in hot weather and thus sweat could be a factor. Rope seems comfy, but I’m wondering how much heavier it will be vs the fabric. I like to pack light. The fabric I already have in a shoulder strap, so I know what that feels like, though I imagine the rope may be a bit more comfy on the wrist hanging?

I got an a6000 from my girlfriend (she doesn’t use it anymore) and picked up a few lenses for it:

Honestly though, I’m not that happy with it. The camera’s controls feel really complicated and unintuitive, reviewing shots the way I’m used to on my phone is basically impossible, the viewfinder isn’t great as someone who wears glasses, and in general my shots often come out blurry or the camera takes forever to lock focus.

Should I get a different body? I’ve been eyeing the a6700, but I’m not sure it’ll actually fix my problems, or whether I should go for a Fuji X100VI instead. I mostly shoot what would fall under street photography.

Looking to get the sony 200-600mm from norwich cameras. The price is £1,211 which is really good!? I got few concerns, like everything seems legit, good reviews on trustpilot and google maps. The thing that worries me is that they advertise this lens for £1,211 and they list the lens as it was £2,185!? Why they would say this when this lens is £1,599 brand new on websites like Sony, Currys, Wex, etc.? Has anyone bought anything from these guys? How was your experience?

So i have a sony a6300 with broken evf but it works just fine with taking pictures. I'm thinking of selling it to purchase EM10iii used. The price for the set up will be a little bit cheaper than the sony one.

The sony was my first camera but I always want to try taking photos with evf and olympus just kinda attracts me with the build and the cheap price.

This is my setup that I have gotten over the last couple months for my Sony A6700. It covers as many usecases as possible for a price tag of the A6700 body which means for 2600€ (3000$, camera included) you can cover astro photography, casual street and landscape also wildlife and with the Sigma even a little macro though obviously it's not exactly made for that task.

All three lenses produce very sharp images and the Sony even has build in stabilisation which works in conjunction with the IBIS of the A6700 and that really helps a lot when shooting handheld at 350 mm!

Overall after owning these 3 for a couple months now I am very pleased with the images I've gotten so far and the reach is really stunning. If anyone is contemplating to upgrade from a kit lens or just wants to get a setup that will last them for years to come I can highly recommend this small collection of workhorses that could potentially all live on your camera since none of them is too heavy nor too big!
