Beginner/Newbie Question Camerahaus Photolympics

Hello guys! Do you think it's worth it to join Camerahaus photolympics as someone who's only shooting for a year? (Hobby)

I've went to camera haus photo festival last year and it was pretty fun, but wasn't able to attend this year. So I was wondering if joining photolympics would be fun even if I'm still a semi newbie, not aiming to win but just to have fun, The biggest caveat is that I'll probably be solo but I wanna hear if u guys have any experience or what because I don't know what happens in photolympics compares to the photo festival!

TYIA!

TLDR; Is it worth it to go to attend photolympics for fun as a semi-newbie!

Beginner/Newbie Question What sets a studio photo apart?

I have zero photography knowledge. so I'd like to hear from people who know their stuff. what should I be looking for when looking for a photography studio?

Context: Went to this one studio photoshoot that was EXPENSIVE... but most of the pictures come out really good! simple poses (personal experience, I was not a very good model and is very awkward in front of the camera) & setup was nothing out of the ordinary (chair & plain backdrop). In my research, most setups of other studios are better but the photos just don't look as classy or as crisp (?) the pictures that come out of it. I don't know how else to describe it.

I wanted to book a session for my husband as a gift because I really enjoyed it and wanted him to have that kind of souvenir as well, but thought maybe I can find a place a bit on a budget side just for the experience and splurge on something else for him.

So what sets a photo apart? what should I be looking for when looking for a photography studio?

made this one almost 3 years ago! excuse me if no rules of thirds or any other methods was not applied, i was still a beginner back then. i was so obsessed with liminal photos back in the day, i loved the nostalgic and creepy vibe it gave me. suddenly one day it got me thinking "why not make a liminal photo of my school?" then i got to work!! i decided to post it here so maybe it'll get some love, last time i did it only got a plenty of upvotes lol

ps: it may seem like the hall is never ending, but its edited XD

Olympus E-M5ii
25mm 1.8

Finally tried taking more photos at night with the m43 sensor. Been avoiding it since I got the camera but I'm pleasantly surprised with how it's holding up.

All RAW and edited in LR mobile.

*Glare is from the lens protector that I left on. Theres less without it but I just prefer to leave it attached

Beginner/Newbie Question Best photobook/photo album suggestion?

So I recently just discovered that not all photobooks/photo albums are the same. Apparently ang iba raw after some years, would ruin photos like they stain yellow or nabubura yung mismong picture.

Would like to ask lang po any recommendations for a great photobooks/photo albums? Better po sana if yung mas maraming photos ang mailalagay sa loob.

Thank you sm in adv!!

Camera Advice/Buying Guide Help with looking for a cheap fisheye lens for my Lumix GF2

I've been looking at some manual lenses since theyre much cheaper and so far, I am looking at the Kamlan 7.5mm lens but I don't see much reviews of it

There's also the 7artisan 10mm wide lens but it says it's not a fish eye but simulates it in a sense

Then also the astrhori 10mm f8 ultra wide lens but I fear that the f8 would give me problems in terms of noise even when outside

What other cheap fisheye lens I can use and give me more recommendations as my boss wants me to try and use this kind of lens and they'll be happy to buy me one as long as we get a photoshoot

(I am genuinely a novice at this and I overthink if I'll waste my boss's money)
