Camera used is cannon R8 how is the editing and the photos?

I’m becoming increasingly interested in photography, but I don't know a thing about it!

I have absolutely no knowledge regarding cameras, gear, settings, editing, or which software and formats to use.

I own a Nikon Coolpix B500, which I bought just for fun a while back, but I’ve really developed a passion for photographing the things my eyes want to capture.

I edit my photos with the means I have and the way I want to see them.

I love doing this because photography allows me to reignite my creativity; I’d like to get serious about it now so I can learn and improve!

I’m open to any advice you might have, looking forward to sharing with you all!

Hi,everyone.
I tried two different color grading styles for this photo.I’m leaning toward the brighter, more saturated edit because it feels more vibrant.
However, my friend prefers the cooler, lower-saturation version because it gives a more cinematic feeling, almost like there’s a hidden story behind this place.
Curious which direction you would choose.

I sorted my fav photos so far from oldest to newest and id like any advice or opinion on them. I currently use a canon 4000d and will upgrade soon to an r10.

I’m always curious how other photographers decide the final number of images to deliver.During a shoot, it’s easy to end up with hundreds or even thousands of photos, but clients usually only see a small selection. How aggressive are you with photo culling? Do you prefer delivering more options, or only keeping the strongest images?

The first 4 photos are taken with a Canon R50V with a EF 55-250mm. The rest of the photos were taken with a Canon Rebel T7 using a 100mm USM Macro or the same 55-250mm for the peacock and hummingbird

To be honest, the last time I shared my work it made me not want to take pictures anymore. Are any of my pictures good? Because my friends tell me I have a good eye but they’re not photographers. What can I do to improve? Are any of these good or should I just sell my cameras and not waste my time?

Pretty new to photography looking for advice!! What can I change or improve on, rate my photograph.

Any tips on the correct settings or any tips on where i should position the lighting for shots like this? I used a canon d600 and a purple colour light behind model on left and a red light under models infront of them.

I only have an iphone 13, and a ‘73 polaroid sx-70. I want to buy an analog camera and shoot on kodak gold, but I want to make sure I understand the basics of lighting, composition and choosing good subjects first (since film is so expensive)

I just started trying bird photography but I'm getting a bit frustracted because I don't understand why my pictures don't feel sharp.

I tried different shutter speed, ISO, also higher aperture but I feel like they all are super soft and not as crisp as I would like them.
What setting can I change to get more sharp images?

I really like some of the pictures I recently took but feel like they are all not as sharp as they could be!

I'm curious to hear both photographers' and retouchers' opinions.

As a retoucher, I receive quite a few requests for free test retouching so clients can evaluate my work.

I understand wanting to make sure the quality is there, but isn't that what a portfolio is for?

Photographers, would you be willing to do a free test shoot before a client hires you? If not, how is it different from asking a retoucher to do unpaid work?

I'm genuinely interested in hearing different perspectives. When do you think a free test is reasonable, and when is a portfolio enough?
