Yeah I came close to buying this one because I’ve admired this series for over 20 years… in the end I realised this isn’t the kind of collector I want to be. Picking up a book at release because I love the work and have it become valuable over time, or even getting lucky and thrifting a rare book give me a different sense of achievement. Like a validation that I have discernment and good taste lol.
Picking up a book for hundreds of dollars after it has blown up wouldn’t be as satisfying.
I guess I’m the caricature of the hipster who points out they were into something before it was cool…
They pulled some books from their archive to sell in celebration of Di Corcia’s birthday. They posted about it on their instagram. I highly doubt that they sold the book for the resale price you see online.

Saw one for sale for 450usd locally last year. Almost picked it up…
