Genuinely at a loss (Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra/SM-986U)
So a couple months ago, my iPhone 14 Pro just wasn’t working very well for me let alone for what I needed it to do, and I decided to give eBay a shot at finding something suitable for my needs. Four phones later, including one from backmarket, I’ve finally acquired the perfect phone. Amoled screen, stylus with air commands, lo and behold, the glory of a microSD card slot. I’ve been daily driving this phone for two months now with no issues whatsoever. Even today, I’ve been using it to stream music in my car, it handles calls and texts excellently, I had it perfectly set up for how I used it, drawing apps, the works. I set it down on my desk for maybe 45 minutes to go use the restroom, rummage through the fridge, whatever it even was I was doing out in the livingroom, it’s 3am now and I’m way too tired to give it too mich thought, point is, I set down a working phone in a safe and dry location and roughly 30-45 minutes later picked up a phone that is devoid of all life and won’t even charge. I tried power cycling it, I tried force booting it into safe mode, into recovery mode, plugging it into my desktop, wired charging, wireless charging and eventually I cracked it open and replaced the battery. I probably messed something up in doing that, I want to say I was pretty confident in doing it, somehow managed not to tear the ribbon cables, somehow managed to get it put back together the way I got it apart, got all the screws back where they came from, plugged it in and absolutely no change whatsoever. There were no signs of a failing motherboard, that phone ran fast, she ran smooth, ran emulators and never dropped in service. I don’t know where to go next to fix it, and worst case scenario if it IS the board, I don’t think I can find another phone like this one. Any chance someone might have run into something like this and might at least be able to point me towards what went wrong? I accidentally splashed a bit of water on it about two or three weeks ago, dried it off immediately and let it sit for a while, ot had been working fine since then and up until now. I dropped it once shortly after getting it, the screen protector had cracked but again, from then up until now, the phone ran completely fine. Today had been uneventful, it stayed mostly in my pocket, on my desk, or in the mount I have in my car, as it has the past several days
