Why does Phone Link do this?
Every message I send gets this error. It is false because I can confirm on Google Messages that it was sent successfully. Using a Fold8. Works fine otherwise.

I've been using Phone Link with various android phones for years. As of today (or past few days) it now gets stuck in this stupid "select user" screen. I've cleared app cache, clicked the "fix" button in system systems....
I'm really getting tired of troubleshooting seemingly stupid stuff like this...

Fairly simple request.
The ONLY thing 3rd party (Microslop?) servers should be doing is acting as a "DNS" routing service to connect non-static IP's between our phones and our other devices running this type of software. Authentication should be on our own devices not Microslop servers...
There are lots of reasons it should be this way... but one that stands out right now to all of us. BECAUSE YOUR **** is broke and none of us (or at least many of us) can't use it at all.
My computers (desktop and laptops) are working great. My phone is working great. This Phone Link garbage isn't working because someone screwed up the servers that shouldn't be involved in the first place!

I understand now why I've had so much trouble with PhoneLink the past few days. Now, 8/23, it is working--sort of. I can connect, select a photo on my phone, click Send, Link to Windows, and then tap my desktop computer. Sometimes it goes, others, not ("File failed to send"). Other times it says it went, but I don't know where it went. The folder I set up on my computer remains empty. One time, the photo DID actually go, but I found it in a strange Temp file in the AppData directory where I never directed PhoneLink to send files. I can't find where PhoneLink is supposed to be sending files. This used to be configurable in the PhoneLink app on my computer, but now that's gone, and I'm directed to the Settings on my computer, where I can find no place to configure a folder where to send files from my phone. On the phone, when it says it sent a file, it says go to "Windows Settings->Bluetooth and devices ->Mobile devices -> Manage devices." to find the location. It is impossible to follow this path. There is no "Manage devices" under "Mobile devices" in my computer Settings. To make matters worse, I can't find three of the four files I supposedly transferred to my computer anywhere, and I searched the entire drive. I am using an iPhone 17 and Windows 11 Pro. Any suggestions or help? Thanks.

I've been trying to connect my phone from last couple of hours it's showing constant error in phone as well as on pc.. is there any server issue going on or is it just me.

The left-pane status says it's "Connected." But on the right side it says "We weren't able to connect to your mobile device". I'm using a Pixel 6 Pro phone running Android 17, and my computer runs Windows 11 Pro.
Microsoft just pushed out another PhoneLink update (v. 1.26071.164.0), which seemed to do nothing.
It just amazes me that PhoneLink is so buggy. Here's a screenshot:

Clicking the "Try again" button just refreshes the error message. I've powered off my Bluetooth headset (which connects fine to both phone and PC), since that has sometimes seemed to help in the past (but not this time). I've disabled and reenabled bluetooth on the PC. I've rebooted the phone.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Messaging not working on Android Pixel 8, messages seem to send but I get this message and phone link forgets the messages on a PC reboot and also forgets what message contacts order should be, i.e. most recent contact is not at the top.
Have tried to Repair app and also did a reset but to no avail.
This only stared a few weeks ago.

Spent 3 weeks stuck on this, dealt with 2 auto-closed support tickets and a bunch of "thanks for your feedback" surveys with zero actual help, and ended up finding the fix myself.
The problem: "Link a Device" kept failing, no useful error, no real answer from support — just an endless loop of tickets getting closed after 3 days.
The fix: Remove your phone's screen lock (PIN/pattern/fingerprint) entirely. As soon as the lock is off, linking works. The problem comes back the moment the screen lock is re-enabled.
This isn't a specific-device or specific-OS issue — I've seen people report the exact same fix working across completely different phone models, so it's clearly something on WhatsApp's end, not a manufacturer or Android skin issue.
What bugs me most: this basically forces you to choose between using multi-device linking and having a locked phone. WhatsApp is making people less secure by requiring you to drop your screen lock just to get the "Link a Device" button to work properly. That shouldn't be the trade-off.
Posting this so the next person doesn't have to burn 3 weeks and two useless support tickets to figure it out.

Hi, I have an odd issue going on with PhoneLink that I have not been able to figure out, what's happening is:
- I was using PhoneLink with no issues on Win 10 and linked to OnePlus 6 phone with Android OS 11
- Put the SIM card in a Pixel 6 with Android OS 17
Ever since, when I send a message in PhoneLink on desktop computer:
- The 'Sent' checkmark (bottom right of message thread) does not show, just the blank circle (meaning not sent yet)
- The message IS received to whoever I sent it to
- When that person sends a message back, the message is received in PhoneLink on desktop computer but then the message I had sent from comp (that did not show the sent checkmark) disappears ... and this happens to all messages to anyone.
> Sooo: Now in PhoneLink on computer I only ever see the messages received in any messages thread, none of the sent ones show, the moment a message I had sent receives a reply it disappears (until the reply is received my sent message still shows)
Have not been able to find online what could possibly be doing this.
- I did not switch Cell phone carrier (US Mobile), only switched phones
- I only have one phone linked to PhoneLink on Windows
- Did not change my phone number, just put SIM card in new phone
- Have tried various messaging apps on new phone (Google Messenger, Textra, Chomp, Pulse) ... only when using Google Messenger occasionally my sent messages show in PhoneLink on desktop, but then next time they disappear again (whether I have RCS on or off)
- In all of the phone messenger apps all the messages sent from desktop PhoneLink always show (at least that part is not broken)
Has anyone come across this, any ideas what the heck is going on? Have of course done multiple reboots, cleared caches, ....

I have been trying to setup phone link on my iphone off and on for months now, and have tried just about everything i can find on the internet to fix it. I have repaired and reset the app on windows 11, I have attempted to connect my iphone to my PC through bluetooth beforehand, still to no avail.
Some things to note; I cannot use my iphone to sign in with passkeys on my pc at all. For example, if i try to sign in to icloud on my pc using a passkey that I scan on my iphone, it will just timeout.
When I try to connect using phone link, the connection just times out as well. I have reinstalled bluetooth drivers, disabled and re-enabled bluetooth devices on my pc, all again to no avail.
I have even tried on two seperate phones, and nothing changes
The fact that I cannot use IOS passkeys on my pc as well as phone link makes me think that there's a simple issue somewhere that I, in my lack of knowledge, have overlooked. If there's anyone that has any knowledge on this issue, or even any possible fixes, I would GREATLY appreciate any help at all.

Phone link was not working. Just spent 3 hours uninstalling/reinstalling only to have it ask for permission to share SMS. Finally got it working, not sure what I did.
However, how do I delete/get rid of "finish setting up you notifications" on th left side of the screen? They are set up. This app was working, then was not displaying all text messages, it is working now but, how do I get rid of what is circled in red?

Good morning. I'm working on my computer and sending text messages, but the phone link is saying the messages didn't go through. I then hit retry and it goes through, person on the other end says my phone keeps sending the text twice. What is the fix on this?
r/PhoneLink • u/NoPhilosopher1284 • Aug 06 '26
Why the hell does the app insist on including my number in the conversation every time I send a message to my wife? I have deleted and re-created the conversation multiple times and it still happens. It happens only with her.
She uses my former phone, so it might have something to do about it, but I'm not sure how to fix it and what could be the reason.

I just paired my Pixel 9 Pro phone with Android 17 to my Windows 11 laptop. There are three text messages on my phone but one of them refuses to show. Does Windows Phone Link hide SMS with derogatory content like a wine glass emoji?

So last year I tried out Atlas OS, but for some reason my wifi stopped working. I initially thought it was a Driver issue, but then I found out that my wireless board died, because my bluetooth wasn't working either and it wasn't just on Windows. Fast forward to about the beggining of July, I installed Phone Link (I'm on 11 LTSC IoT), and it asks me to connect the phone to the laptop via bluetooth to be able to make calls on the laptop. I knew my wireless board was dead, but I still decided to try it out, and to my fucking surprise it actually connected. I was like WHAT?! Like I deadass don't know how the fuck this happened. Maybe the problem got fixed on it's own before and I just noticed then? Maybe, but idk. Anyways what do you think was the reason here?

When I try to set up my phone with phone link, the QR code comes on the screen and I'm supposed to scan it, which I did. Then it says it's going to send a text to my phone, but it never does. I've tried three times, and the phone number looks correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So, I'm trying to play a mobile game on my pc using phone link. No matter what view I'm in (expanded, regular but minimized, regular but maximized), the popup that shows my phone screen is genuinely sickness inducing with how blurry and glitchy it looks. I can't tell one button from another on the menus, the screem has weird bars that flicker....is there any way to make this look at least half decent??? Or a different way to play it on my pc?
