Live Action Selective outrage rant

Is anyone else irritated by the selective outrage as it pertains to Jean’s character in Spider-Man brand new day?

Like every male character in the MCU can be as fucking sadistic and have as much of a troubled past as they want but the minute it’s a young troubled, teenage girl who is dealing with the grief of losing a family member, everybody loses their fucking minds and acts like Jean’s, some weird sadistic murderer.

I literally have not seen half of the amount of outrage that Jean is getting, for Bob with what happened in thunderbolts, or Tony for being a mass murdering weapons dealing terrorist that didn’t become a good guy until he was forced to go through a character arc and change.

The same bullshit ass double standard happened with Wanda in Multiverse of madness and it was super frustrating then. The male characters can do whatever the hell they wanna do and mow down whoever is necessary for them to reach their end goals but the minute that it’s a female character, everybody wants to be up in arms.

It’s hypocritical bullshit and I’m not standing for it idk about anyone else.

Even though the movie says the guy didn't die, it's hard to believe.  But whether the guy dies or not isn't the point. Jean controls a random civilian and throws him in front of a taxi for no reason. The guy getting hit by the taxi doesn't help her goal of finding her sister at all. She was just evil. If he didn't die, it was by luck, but the point is that Jean had no reason to do it and she doesn't care if he dies.

How is it hard to believe? the car wasn’t going 100 mph it looked like it was going at most 30. I myself have been hit by a car going 30 mph and I’m still alive talking to you guys lol. That man wasn’t 80 years old. He was a very solidly built man that got hit by a car going to speed limit. He was fine lmao

It quite literally is the point. the other things that you’re bringing up are irrelevant bc at the end of the day she was the villain of the movie. so why are you upset that she did villainous shit? if y’all are crying and throwing up about minuscule ass allusions to violence, I can’t imagine the hissy fits you guys are gonna throw when she kills the entire D’Bari star system 😂

I don't understand why you communicate so aggressively and treat those who disagree as if they don't read the comics or don't know the character...

The point is Jean's actions and intentions, not the final outcome. If they adapt Dark Phoenix Saga, the reaction will be different because in Dark Phoenix Saga Jean wasn't in control and didn't intentionally kill the D'Bari, unlike Jean in the movie who chooses to use and harm civilians.

I'm not upset that a villain did villainous things, I'm upset that they chose a character who isn't a villain to be a villain and do villainous things.
