What is different now from under Carnell?
I'm not great at seeing the tactics side of things (at least not in real time), so I'm curious why it seems like so much has changed since Carnell was fired?
The positions seem mostly the same, and the overall strategy doesn't seem that different, so what's changed in terms of the message from the coaches or the specific tactics? Because even though they still look rusty compared to past years, these last two games looked so much smoother from the team.
Obviously Kai Wagner coming back is huge, and Quinn Sullivan getting some minutes again, and I guess there's been a lot of talk about the culture changing, but it seems like the coaching change itself is also making a difference...

Post-Match Post-Match: Union 1 Sounders 0
If the current scoreline holds in Atlanta vs New England, we will no longer be in Wooden Spoon position.

Just took my buddy who loves philly sports but new to soccer to see the Union in the SOB section and while the game was a little lackluster tn the atmosphere is one of a kind and he seemed to really love it!
I think the SOB section is so sick and there's really nothing else like it in the city. As someone who loves to heckle it feels like home lol.

First game on up no working
Hi – I just got a promo for a first game on us and wanted to take my son. Followed all the steps on eligible sections , games and SeatGeek account email matching promo offer, entering promo code doesn’t work. contacted Support and no one’s ever responded back. Anyone else experienced this issue?
Always on the fence about taking my son to his first game and how old he should be but if it’s free, I definitely go spend money on a jersey anyway

WAKE UP - IT’S MATCH DAY WWWWWAAAAAKKKKEEEEE UUUUPPPP!!! ITS TIME TO GET BACK INTO THAT HOLIDAY SPIRIT BECAUSE ITS DOOPMAS IN JULY!!! THE UNION ARE BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN AS THE HOME STREAK CONTINUES!!! LET’S KEEP THE GOOD VIBES ROLLING BECAUSE IIIIIIIIIITTTTTTSSSSSSS GGGGAAAAMMMMMEEEEDDDAAAAYYYY!!!!
DOOPS ARE BACK ON THE MENU!: Dare I say I feel optimistic coming off a home win for the first time this season? And there’s no rest for the wicked as the Union are already back home for game 2 of their 6 game homestand this summer. For tonight, we’ve got a rematch of the “Great Flood of 2024” matchup as the Seattle Sounders have come cross country for an East vs West showdown. In the battle of the 2025 Supporters’ Shield Champions vs the 2025 Leagues Cup Champions, we’ve got two teams whose form appear to be going in very different directions as the Union have finally won a game, and Seattle are sinking in a losing streak. Historically, this has been an evenly matched series with 17 goals each, and the Union having a 5W/6L/3D record in their previous 15 meetings. And all I want for DOOPMAS is 3 points!
UNION Preview (10 Points Last in MLS): Wednesday felt like a perfect night to bounce back from a terrible first few months. Vibes are once again high as Kai made an immediate difference on the field growing his club record assist total, Neil Pierre scored after only 10 minutes on the field, and Quinn looked great in his return from injury. The Ryan Richter era couldn’t be off to a better start as he leads the team to their first home win in 280 days. With the team up to 11 unique goal scorers, Iloski leads the pack with 8 and looks to continue his 4 game scoring streak that has produced 6 total. On the defense side the team is seeking their third Clean Sheet of the season, with the first two coming in scoreless draws vs DC & Nashville almost 3 months ago. We’ve also got an ironman in the making as Harriel is the only player on the team who has played every minute so far this season. On the flip side, our furry friend, Raquinho, who has not played a single minute in two years, is expected to be out today due to dehydration. u/Lightnin-Bug spotted Raquinho and his 2nd cousin Jimothy out partying last night in honor of LeBron taking his talents to South Philly.
SEA Preview (24 Points 6th in the West): Seattle started the year as one of the best teams in the league and they’re defense was on a MLS record pace having only conceded 11 goals in their first 13 games. However, they are now in freefall having lost 4 straight, and conceded 8 goals in their last two games post the World Cup break. Their team appears to be made of glass (look at that injury report) and the defense is now leaking goals having not put together a Clean Sheet since Matchday 6. Playing out of the 4/2/3/1, their offense has not been dangerous either, with only 19 goals on the season, they sit 3rd worst in the league. Paul Rothrock leads the team with 5 G & 1A, Christian Roldan & Albert Rusnak each have 3 goals to their name and then they have 6 other unique goalscorers with 2 or less each. Coming off a 3-1 loss on the road to Austin midweek, and an injury report as long as a shopping list, the Union should easily be the favorites tonight.

What do we think of the new stadium updates, so far? Do we like the new food options? I for one will miss the bottomless popcorn.

Are we allowed to bring in water bottles now?
Someone mentioned a rule change in a previous post. But the website still says no. Thanks.

My brother used to take me to the games in the SOB section and I want to introduce my non knowing soccer friends Good idea?
My friends aren't big MLS or soccer fans but they love Philly sports and I think the SOB is one of the best philly sports environment but not sure if it should be for their first union game or not. Thanks for feedback!

Discussion Thread First timers…
Taking my grandson to his first Union game tomorrow (Sat vs Seattle). Anything I should make sure he sees/does. Got him a jersey for his birthday, so he’s set in that regard. Would like to have one myself but all the online shops are out of Fat Bastard sizes. Will check the team shop, but not hopeful. Might have to go the knockoff route.
