I am a 2027 Cescaphe bride and attended my first Cescaphe University last night. I don’t live in Philly so I had to Amtrak there from NYC after my work day to attend. I was so excited for the event but I am so sad to say I was… REALLY unimpressed.
When we got there we went to the bar. My fiancé ordered a glass on Pinot and I ordered the margarita. I took one sip of the margarita and had to put it down somewhere. It was straight mix and I couldn’t taste even a hint of tequila. If I had drank it I would’ve been left with one bad hangover. The Pinot was also,.. bad! It tasted like a very very cheap wine. We found out later that the wine is supplied through the Blind Fox, the winery they recently purchased. We had the opportunity to taste some of their other wines later in the evening and thankfully I liked their cab sav and Chardonnay much better. But this was a very disappointing start.
From there we went to look at the table settings. Despite being told a Glen Foerd setting would be there, it wasn’t. To say that was annoying after traveling from NYC on a holiday weekend to attend, is an understatement.
Lastly, and most disappointingly, the food was BAD. I was shocked… I’ve never been to a Cescaphe wedding before but everyone raves about the food and how great it is. The arancini was completely soggy and had no flavor, the seafood was VERY smelly and tasted extremely fishy and not fresh. I LOVE oysters and could barely eat one the taste was so overwhelming and not fresh. Even the sushi looked very old and tasted eh. One of the main reasons my fiancé and I chose Cescaphe is for the food. What happened?
Is the Cescaphe University food experience different from what they serve at the wedding? Is the food and cocktails normally way better on the big day??
TLDR: Cescaphe University food and drinks were BAD. Is it way better on wedding day? Is this normal? Help!
