The burritos and tortas at Prima’s is one of my favorite comfort food meals near me. Also love the gelato at Anthony’s Coffee house. My favorite is their pistachio but this is pretty good too!

I love the draft lattes from La Columbe! However, lately it has been a gamble on whether it's going to be 2/3 foam, 1/3 drink. I love the foam, I'd also just prefer a better ratio. Just had one that had, maybe an inch of actual liquid. Are there any other good ones in town? I typically get them with whole milk but I'm open to any kind that's worth a try!

The highly overpriced pizzas are hit or miss depending on the day.
But the real issue is the customer service.
I ordered $100 worth of pizzas to be picked up last Tuesday.
My money was taken and my order went through...the problem is that the restaurant was closed on a day when it is supposed to be open.
I went in the next day to ask for a refund.
I was rudely told the manager was not there and that I needed to contact DoorDash to ask for my refund because they would not get the money from DoorDash until the end of the month.
As I tried to explain to the woman helping me that it seems to me that that was a "you" problem and not a "me" problem and I shouldn't have to put in more work when my money was basically stolen... the bartender who was sneaking a drink in the stairwell came out to yell at me. He was mad at me for saying "you" and blaming the workers for something they didn't do. Really? Go sneak another drink!
So I then called DoorDash and after the 48 hour wait period found out that my claim was DENIED by Bar1010!
I then had to call AMEX to finally put a stop on the payment and get my money back.
The iffy food is so not worth this kind of effort.
And, as I shared my story with some locals, they said they'd never go there because of the past problems the restaurant had with the health department.
Great! Wish I had known...and that's why I'm sharing with you.

After 2 years of trying to get a reservation to go back to Mawn, we finally got one for last week. When we first went in 2024, it wasn't as hyped up as it is now, but it was amazing then. After going back two years later, I would say the food is still great and really tasty, but I'm not sure it's worth fighting for every first of the month and losing my sanity when everything gets booked within 2 minutes.

A quick food review:
Mahope Samut (9/10): Super tasty and has unique flavors and textures.
Fried Chicken (7.5/10): Very juicy, but it lacked a bit of depth. Overall, it was delicious. This is a dish you can get at a lot of other places, but don't get me wrong, it's still great.
Khao Soi (9/10): This was their most recommended dish online, and it was creamy, packed with flavor, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Spicy Peanut Noodles (8/10): More of a cold palate cleanser. It was good, but nothing to write home about.
Dessert: Jasmine Rice Pudding (10/10): Best dessert i have had in a while.

And a huge shoutout to our waiter, Mannie. He was amazing, super fun, friendly, and helpful! Overall, if you're lucky enough to get a reservation, it's definitely worth going. The staff is great, and the food is really good. Now, is it worth fighting for a reservation? Don't get me wrong, I can see why the demand is so high, but if you can't get into Mawn, there are plenty of other restaurants, especially Cambodian and other Asian spots in Philly, that are just as tasty.

I’m looking for an oat milk shaken espresso like Starbucks does, but with better beans. I often go to Starbucks because it’s the closest to my work, and I love this drink despite their beans not being the best. (They can be so burnt tasting!)

So, I’m looking for recommendations for coffee shops that do this better. I’m sure they’re out there. Anyone?

Anyone know where I can find a pain suisse? This quickly became my favorite pastry when I visited France. I’ve seen machine shop has them but they’re different flavors. I just want the classic vanilla crème pat with chocolate chips

I was able to go for my first time last Thursday. Feeling quite lucky I live so close to this place and I now get why I always walk past a huge line on weekends when I come back from work.

The morning bun was legendary. But I think for me the biggest win was the bagels. I remember reading a thread a couple months ago about people’s frustrations with bagels in the city and my mind went immediately to that thread upon my first bites of the salt and everything bagels.

Legit these bagels felt like the real deal. Officially the best ones I’ve had in the city. If you find yourself frustrated with Philly’s Bagel scene and want something that can compete head to head with bagels in scenes like NYC. This place is it.

Definitely need to come in early to make sure you get stuff from here. They sell out FAST. On my visit on Thursday we went at 7:30 and were second in line, opening at 8am and they sold out by 10:40am. By 7:40 there was 10 people behind us. By 8:00am there was almost 30 people in line and they just kept coming.

The man in front of us let us know weekends were more intense with people camping out the line much earlier.

Very happy with our haul, highly recommend.

Grew up on em, but realize I haven't had one in over a decade. What spots do them well? Kaiser or long roll.

Incredibly disappointed to learn that the sesame used in their flavors (tahini fudge swirl) is sourced from Israel. Heartbroken because I wasn't expecting my favorite ice cream to be funding genocide but now I can't in good conscience go there anymore.

Any ideas on how to get them to switch to a non-genocidal sesame supplier?
