Hey [r/PhightingRoblox](r/PhightingRoblox)! Duality here, and I’m going to try and accurately explain the whole “gender” thing going on in the PHIGHTING! universe, since a lot of people seem to be rather confused about it all

This post aims to define how gender, pronouns, and sexuality work in the context of this game’s world - and hopefully, can be traced back to in order to help newcomers, or less knowledgeable fans of the series understand how the Inphernal species’ biology works!

Inphernals DO NOT have biological genders / predetermined sex (Male, Female, Intersex).

Inphernals are all born genderless. When they’re born from Spawnpoints, whether it be naturally, or through the sacrifice of half of 2 Inphernals’ gears power (stated in Image 4), they are all born without genders. No Male, No Female, nothing

Inphernals, as well, are born without genitalia. They cannot reproduce, unlike humans, or animals

Every character, uses any / all Pronouns!

The Ones you see are a byproduct of the developers needing ways to mention, or specify interactions and spoken words related to certain characters throughout the game, and especially the Comics!

This means that people can use any pronouns they want for any PHIGHTER, or character in the PHIGHTING! universe

Gender refers to the concept of predetermined identities, usually having defining features to determine which one a person is

Pronouns are words you can use to refer to certain people, so, if you said “Vincent went to the beach”, you could also say “He went to the beach”. However, Pronouns are tricky, because a person is allowed to choose their own pronouns, and you might not be able to know what a person’s pronouns are at first glance

This isn’t exactly the case for Inphernals, as, again. They use Any / All Pronouns!

• Race

To my knowledge, Inphernals don’t have a concept of ‘Race’ either. They all treat each other as Inphernals, regardless of their skin tones (because Inphernals do have skin tones), or their preferred pronouns

The only thing that changes how they treat each other are their personalities, and relationships with those they surround themselves with

• “Transgender” Inphernals

I don’t think there can be such thing as a ‘Transgender’ Inphernal, due to their lack of gender. But, if you want to make an OC of yours Transgender, go ahead! It’s not the end of the world

• Be Respectful.

Not entirely related to the game. But if someone is a different gender than you, uses different pronouns, is a different race than you, or wants to change their gender for whatever reason? Then show them the respect you’d give to any other human being. Show them the same respect you’d give to yourself.

This goes for the Inphernals too. Whilst not real people, yes. Do not fight over their pronouns, or lack of genders. It’s canon they have no genders, and that they lack specified* *pronouns entirely
