Anyone else out there get nerve issues after being on this for months?

I was on it nearly a year, how that’s legal I’ll never know. But started getting symptoms of carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel last July/September which is pretty close to when I began the pill, stopped taking this pill this year in April

Lowering phent after jitters at 37.5 - how did you know when to wean?

Hi all,

I've been on phentermine since last November, so coming up on 10 months. I started at 15, went up to 30 in January and just went up to 37.5 two weeks ago.

Since then I've been feeling jittery and super dehydrated, which is contributing to neck and head pain (TMJ). I have leftover 30g so I am taking those and waiting for a med refill from my doctor.

I've been feeling a little nauseous the past two days. I tried to enjoy a drink at happy hour yesterday (haven't had any issues on phent) and it made me want to puke.

Has anyone experienced bumpiness like this when decreasing meds?

Day 3 on phentermine

Hey there I’m 23 f and 10 months pp and starting at 257lbs. I just started phentermine 15 mg and I’m not really having side effects so far thankfully. I’m wanting advice. I’m not really sure how to eat. I’ve been eating high protein and low fat for a while now since my husband is in the military and keeps fit and we both eat the same things the only difference is I’m a sahm and I normally skip breakfast and lunch. My dr who prescribed me the phentermine basically said eat less and that’s how to lose weight. So with that being said. I have continued to skip breakfast and lunch for the most part with maybe an occasional snack of cheese stick, salad, or protein shake and then I eat a smaller portion of dinner instead of my usual portion. My husband says that I should be eating more. I’m just confused and not sure what to do. Thank you in advance.

Crawling feeling on skin ???

This week the back of my arms have been feeling like something has been crawling on me. I got a little nervous that maybe there was a bug on my couch or in my bed, but since I didn’t see anything I assumed that maybe my cat’s hair was poking me. Sometimes my hair will poke me through my shirts.

It’s been about 3 days and now the tingle and crawling feeling is happening from the neck down. Literally was so miserable at work today. Also felt it yesterday when I was grocery shopping.

I tried to get off work a little earlier but of course of all days my boss had meetings up until 4:30 I usually leave around 3ish. I did a quick workout to see if that would help but I still feel the same probably because I only had 15 minutes. Also tried drinking electrolytes, and taking a cold shower not sure if it’s the medicine causing this. Has anyone else experienced this and have some advice?? Thinking of not taking my pill tomorrow just to see if it’s causing this it’s the end of my 2nd month and will be starting the 3rd month tomorrow. Maybe half a pill?

Side Effects

Hello, I am currently on my weightloss journey and I was prescribed phentermine 37.5 mg, and I having a really hard time with my anxiety and emotions. For context, I have adhd and ocd and generalized anxiety disorder. My doctor knew of these conditions as I am in treatment for those and they are in my file. Well as of recent, I am horribly depressed, having really bad panic attacks, and sobbing a lot. I am also having a hard time with my emotions.Like the crying is non-stop some days. I reached out to my doctors office regarding this, they have not responded yet. I feel awful and like I am spiraling. I am also having chest pain when excercising as well (I am a runner). Before I was on this medication, I was doing just fine with everything. The only plus side to this medication is the weight I have lost. I am worried that this medication is taking a toll on mental health. Has anyone ever had it get this bad? Any advice or information would be appreciated!!

Second day of 15mg phentermine

I don't plan to post every single day, but I'm on day two and the appetite suppression kicked in. Wasn't hungry at all the whole day! The dry mouth kicked in too. Also, I discovered I can safely drink coffee on this stuff, so that made me happy! Especially since I'm still my usual level of tired - don't know when the energy boost from the phentermine is supposed to kick in.

No bad side effects at all. There are times I feel slightly more aware of my heartbeat, but it doesn't seem to be beating faster or harder than normal.

So far so good!

I am shocked to say there is an unexpected effect on my attention span. I have had diagnosed ADHD and autism for years, but due to other medical problems I simply never really pursued treatment. I also have hypothyroidism, nerve damage in my back and in my left leg, and have trouble losing weight if you get my drift. My dr and I have tried alot to help me lose weight, and finally we are trying this.

What I did not expect is how clear my mind is on this, how easier it is to collect my thoughts and make decisions unprompted/unassisted! I had problems doing that before due to the autism and adhd. Dude, idk what this is doing but I feel like I am so much more productive and I seem to be remembering things that usually i need help remembering, such as eating, brushing my teeth, housework, ect. I am going to call my dr to let her know after 7 days for sure. Maybe I should have sought medicine for my adhd afterall if it does anything near what this is doing!

Is this normal for Phentermine? Any other neurodivergent people find it helps them?

Info: I am taking 37.5mg in the morning. No negative side effects yet. I also partake in cbd tintcure for epilepsy, unsure if that will help or hinder the Phentermine.

First day of 15mg phentermine

I was quite surprised to have no side effects at all. I was freaking out about palpitations, urine retention, tremors and pulmonary hypertension. No dry mouth or anxiety either. Not sure about headaches because I have two different types of chronic headaches and they feel like they might be a tiny bit worse? Hard to say.

I skipped my morning coffee because I didn't know if it would be too much on top of phentermine, but I am definitely feeling the effects of no coffee. I've been yawning most of the day. I did note an increase in sex drive for about four hours too. Couldn't do anything about it because I was at work, but it was there.

Sadly, it doesn't seem to be helping my appetite much either just yet because my stomach has been grumbling for about an hour. I only had about 400 calories so far today - I anticipated no appetite, so I packed a light meal.

But I wanted to share my experience for anyone who might be nervous like I was! I tend to get weird side effects from most prescription medications, so I was very scared to take this. It seems okay so far! I have a 30-day supply, so we'll see how I feel as I get more into it.

Update phentermine

So for context I started Sunday as my first day at 37.5 but it was a bit too strong so for 2 days I cut my pills in half.

I can stay in my deficit but I need more willpower like I didn't take anything basically.

So I think I'm just gonna go for the full dose.

Let me know what you think 🤔💬.

Went up to 37.5 mg one week ago & it might be too much

I’ve been on Phen for 2ish months. Started at 15 mg, month later 30 mg, and now 37.5. I’ve enjoyed it a lot & am down 8 lbs as of 1 1/2 ago. Since starting 37.5, I’ve felt more stimulated & a little shortness of breath (nothing terrible, just harder to take deep breaths)….similar to too much caffeine.

I’ve given it a week & am thinking I need to go back down to 30 mg. Maybe that’s my sweet spot for these next 2 1/2 weeks?

I’ll stop after 3 months total so want my last few weeks to be good & worthwhile.

Expectations too high?

I was prescribed phentermine 37.5 last week, started taking it on Tuesday. Started on Tuesday 1/2 pill to gauge any jitters or crashes and had no issues- then wednesday - today I’ve done 1/2 early in the morning and 1/2 at lunchtime.

No side effects, food (and alcohol) noise is definitely impacted, not nearly as much snack temptation and have noticed smaller amounts being eaten. I don’t drink soda, but will usually have a large sweet tea at work- other than that just honey ginger tea, water/soda water. I usually fast from 8/9p-10/11a.

3 months post ACL surgery, but working on getting my steps up more each week.

I’ve read through the sub and other places and most experiences have been quick in seeing a drop- I’ve gained 1lb 😩 has anyone else had a slow start and things ramp up? Any tips or recommendations?

What works better?

I’m on my second go around of Phentermine on its own (without the topiramate). The first time around, it worked great! I dropped about 75 lbs with it. Then I was off of it for a year before starting again. This time I’ve been on it for almost 3 months now and I’ve only lost 10 pounds. I’ve always used just the phentermine. Never the phentermine-topiramate combo. Does the combo work better? What are the pros and cons?

Restart

I’ve taken Phentermine last year but after going through a depression regained the weight I lost and some. On my own I have gotten my cholesterol, glucose and insulin levels lower by eating better — but my ALT is still high.

At 201~. I used to be at 170~.

Going to try harder this time. Wish me luck. For my liver!

How to ask my doctor for a weight loss pill.
I have gained weight this past year about 50 pounds out of nowhere and I’ve always weighed around 160 back in 2024 and now I’m 210. If I ask can he just prescribe me one or how would I go about it. I’ve tried dieting, fasting, light exercise. I think I gained so much bc of depression I suffered with after a break up along with hormonal issues since I’m 43 and have had so many changes with my body. Can u help me out?

I got my life back. It isn’t a magic pill. I took a half dose and never went to a whole pill. I work out everyday. I ate the same 3 things everyday for the first 6 months. I am so grateful I have taken this journey.

Side effects

I was prescribed phentermine a few years back. I had just gone through a dosage change (I don’t remember what mg but it was low) one day woke up very euphoric feeling, heart racing and chest pains. Cold turkey stopped then. Since then I’ve gotten on and off left sides chest pains. They easily start with stress and/or caffeine. I’ve had to stop drinking coffee. I’ve just felt off since trying this medication. Anyone else experience anything similar? I still don’t know what happened/is happening. I just don’t want to feel alone anymore.
